Description

The New York Times best seller and USA Today Book of the Year, soon to be a major motion picture starring Emily Blunt.

The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives.

Every day the same

Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She's even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Until today

And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough. Now everything's changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel goes to the police. But is she really as unreliable as they say? Soon she is deeply entangled not only in the investigation but in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?

This Story Unravels Like a Ball of Yarn!<br />#Audible1

I found the more I listened to the story the deeper the story twisted and turned. This book allows a person to explore how simple perspective can greatly influence how one might treat or judge another person or in fact themselves. We all think we know but do we really know?? Have a listen and experience this book from your perspective.

So much fun to listen to!!

I loved this book! The story was captivating from the get go. The protagonist seems like such an unlikable character at first and such a plot twist. Great for long drives!

great book!

Excellent storyline! Lots of twists and unexpected developments in this story. Also, the detailed description of the characters' feelings was making everything very real and easy to relate to.

Good, but not great.

I couldn’t relate to the protagonist at all that’s why I didn’t really enjoy the book. It was, overall, okay. I’m hard to please I suppose.

Performance was great tho; I felt like I can slip into the narrators consciousness. It’s what kept me going.

I was hooked

The Girl on the Train was the first Audible book that I was left feeling that I probably wouldn't have enjoyed as much by physically reading it. I found the voices of the characters (nice job by the 3 narrators) carried me along, each drawing me into their inner world, and their lens on the story. As it was revealed, anyways. Just like if you were thinking about your day, you'd leave obvious stuff out, because it just IS, the unsaid hung around, waiting to be revealed. Then, ah, the penny would drop... that's what happened there.. and another piece of the puzzle fell into place. I admit to being more intrigued at the start, when so much was unclear, than later as things became more grisly, but overall, a good story. A good listen. I'll be on the lookout for Paula Hawkins' other books. Skillful narration by Clare Corbett, Louise Brealey, India Fisher.

Fantastic, thrilling, suspensful

I love how the different characters had different voices, also enjoyed how it was written as almost journal entries, bouncing back and forth through the timeline. really enjoyed the book, and the audio format, bravo Paula Hawkins and to the ladies who narrated.

Pretty good!

Enjoyed the story and most of the narration although the voice of Megan and when she did that accent of the psychologist were annoying for me to listen to.

listen to the dates

Good story but I found timelines confusing and voices very similar. I advise listeners to pay particular attention to the chapter date headings.

Started slow then kept getting better

I did not like most of the people in this book but I did like Rachel. This was quite far fetched but I enjoyed it more and more. It is worth the credit. The tension builds to a good conclusion.

Overall a great story and exceptionally told. Deserves six stars. The three women story tellers add immensely to the impact.
