This was a fantastic follow up to the Wisteria Society book. It had the same quick wit and whimsy as the first, but I'd argue that the story itself is even better as you get to see even more relationship building with the new couple. I also love that we get to see old characters come back too. The narrator, as in the first book, was perfection. I am really looking forward to the next one!

The adventure, whimsey, and steamy romance are back with another determined heroine and her dashing pirate. Nobody writes quite like India Holton and I can’t wait for the third book!

Unfortunately, the world and characters in this story feel immature and underdeveloped. The characters react with exaggerated drama to even minor interactions, making their behavior seem unrealistic and juvenile. The male love interest is painfully dull, embodying the same clichéd, brooding machismo seen in countless other books. Overall, the cast feels emotionally stunted, as if they never matured past adolescence. The writing was so frustratingly silly that I couldn’t take it seriously—I barely made it through five chapters before giving up.
