Kailyn Flowers was always calm, rational, and controlled—until she ended up sprawled all over Daxton Hughes, the former actor she totally crushed on as a teenager. Then she did the unthinkable: She became a mortifying fangirl in five seconds flat, which may or may not have included professing her undying love. And oddly, he didn't run away. In fact, their meet cute led to a friendship she never saw coming. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming, either....

Everyone hates parts of their job. Maybe it’s the paperwork. Maybe it’s the day-to-day grind. Maybe it’s that client who never knows what they want or the guy who always cooks fish in the microwave. But not me. I love every corner of the Longbourne Flower Shop, every flower, every petal, every stem. I love the greenhouse, and I love Mrs. Bennet, my boss. I love creating, and I love being a florist. I don’t hate anything at all. Except for Luke Bennet. The Bennet brothers have come home to help their mom save the flower shop, and Luke is at the helm.

Eugenie Bearhani (1760-1835) was born in Calcutta, raised in Haiti, and brought as a servant - a free woman of color - to America by an English officer on the eve of the American Revolution. Yet none of that prepared Eugenie for her next employer: Colonel Aaron Burr, who some whispered had made a pact with the devil. The lines between master and servant soon tangle and blur, and first attraction becomes dangerous obsession. Many historians deny she even existed, but she and the children she bore to Burr were very real - so was her little-known marriage to America's first true villain.

Description
An American girl finds her prince in this "fun and dishy" (People) royal romance inspired by Prince William and Kate Middleton.
American Bex Porter was never one for fairy tales. Her twin sister Lacey was always the romantic, the one who daydreamed of being a princess. But it's adventure-seeking Bex who goes to Oxford and meets dreamy Nick across the hall - and Bex who finds herself accidentally in love with the heir to the British throne.
Nick is wonderful, but he comes with unimaginable baggage: A complicated family, hysterical tabloids tracking his every move, and a public that expected its future king to marry a Brit. On the eve of the most talked-about wedding of the century, Bex looks back on how much she's had to give up for true love...and exactly whose heart she may yet have to break.

Fluffy Fairytale Romance
I have been in a reading dry spell lately. So, a fluffy romance was just what I needed.
The Royal We was a perfect choice; I had been eyeing the book on audible for awhile, and I finally decided to give it a try.
I found that the Royal We captured my attention at the beginning of the story and held on until the end. I had a difficult time putting the book down at night. The plot to this book a blatantly obvious parallel to Will and Kate.
The plot to this book is a blatantly obvious parallel to Will and Kate; which, as a Royal Family enthusiast, I found wonderfully charming to read.
The characters were quirky, and appealing to the reader. My only complaint with the characters is that I found Bex's twin to be irritating and narcissistic. However, it was not enough of an issue to ruin the book.
Additionally, I believe that Christine Lakin did an excellent job narrating the story. I would listen to more books narrated by her.
Overall, this was a cute story that didn't have a deep or complex plot; perfect for summer.
I would, without a doubt, recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fluffy, fairytale romance.

Great story
This was a great story (I would read someone else review on more about the actual story), the only things that bothered me was the music between sections of the book and at the end. It was not enough that I would not listen to it again, but it was unexpected and strange. It might have been better if the song choice was different, but it certainly did not make this audio book better which is what brought the performance and overall down 1 star more than it would have had without the music. I also wanted a better ending, or at least a epilogue that tells us about what ends up happening. You get so invested in the villain’s( I am not naming the person due to spoilers) plot and potential punishment but we end up with almost no closure on the reactions after. I personally needed the reactions and ending consequences to make this complete and a perfect story, even if they were only written in one short paragraph, almost anything would have been better. It was a great poetic ending of the final chapter, but a epilogue should have happened.

I deserve a medal for getting to the endless end.
This could have actually been a very nice, sweet romance novel but the romance covered 8 years and I felt like that is about how long it took for me to get through it. All the potential that this novel held - basics of a good plot and interesting characters - was completely buried in its absolute endlessness. This is an 8 or 9 hour novel that was 18 hours long.
This novel needed an editor SO badly. About the time something would happen that would move the storyline along, the author would derail it with ennnnndddddlllllleeeesssss details, distractions and digressions.
If you want to read a fun, interesting, lively, sweet love story of an American girl and a young prince, get, "Royally Screwed" by Emma Chase.
Don't waste your time -- lots and lots and lots of it -- with "The Royal We."

Very charming, but...
I so want to give this book five stars. It's charming, well written, touching, and a lot of fun. I love the Fug Girls (the authors) and their website, and I found the story to be engaging. I also came to adore nearly all of the supporting players...including Lady Bollocks and Pudge. But my feminist heart just can't completely get on board with this book because I found Bex to be a really, really disappointing heroine. Here we've got a girl who arrives in England brave, smart, and independent. Over the course of the novel, she relinquishes nearly everything that makes her who she is, all for the sake of keeping a man. She loves him fiercely, there's no doubt about that, and the times they spend together are lovely. It's a running theme--the idea that Bex is losing herself. Maybe the reality is that to live that royal life, she'd have to give herself up completely (though I hope not; I hope Kate Middleton managed to hang on to her soul). But I can't get behind a literary heroine who does that, and by the end, what I really wanted was for Bex to leave her prince, go home, get a job, and recapture who she was at the start. Like real people, I feel like characters in stories should evolve into something new and better. Your 20-year-old self shouldn't be your best self.
My favorite parts were when the group was at Oxford. I found all their shenanigans and adventures to be charming and fun. The stuff with Nick and his mother was wonderful and heartfelt, and I even didn't mind the soapy nature of the later twists and turns. If Bex had just managed to regain herself amid all the attacks and attempts to change her, I'd have loved it. But in the end, the message seems to be that to find true love and the joy that brings, you have to hide or even lose your soul. I just can't get behind that.
That said, the reader was fantastic.

Authors paid by the word?
While looking for a light and fun book to listen to while doing different projects, I found The Royal We. Based on the majority of reviews, it sounded good so I ordered it. Main thing is I can't believe I listened to the whole book waiting for the good part. The story hoped to follow along Prince William and Princess Kate but other than their meeting at college, that's it. Nick, the one day King meets Rebecca, the American girl who grabs his heart, but who also does nothing but drink and watch TV and party along with their friends. The whole story is filled with the drama of drinking, sex, wrong person to have sex with, wrong sex to have sex with, jealousy and more crying than at 50 funerals. It is a poorly written story with the couple's entire relationship after 8 years based still on how hot they are for each other. A very silly book. Not worth a credit nor worth the credit of being published.

Meh
This story was decent but I thought it was going to be a romance but its really primarily about the complications that arise from dating a prince and not necessarily about their relationship. In the beginning it shows how their relationship started but then all talk about their chemistry and scenes illustrating why they're together and love each other cease to exist after that.

Mindless enjoyment
I thoroughly enjoyed this summer read, but by no means would I recommend it as great literature or a profound work; it is simply a meaningless fairytale to get lost in while lounging on a beach, in bed, or wherever you choose to lounge. The number of familiarities with the current young royal couple (Will and Kate) and their families is almost too much to bear; I would have preferred more fiction than fact or close-to-fact.

Unexpectedly Great
I bought this book on a whim because I thought the story looked cute.
It proved a great choice. The reader is easy to listen to, and does a great job on both American and a variety of British accents.
Even though I knew from the start that the American girl would get her prince, the story took a number of twists and turns that I did not expect. I liked both main characters, and the secondary characters were fleshed out nicely.
I have already re-listened to it, which is unusual for me with an audiobook.

A Cuddley Cinderella Story
This book is a harmless bit of fluff that does not tax one's brain to any great extent while listening to it over the course of a day or two. It's perfect escapist fiction on those days when one is nursing a headache, down with a wicked cold, or like me, ordered to bed because of an allergy attack that had my ebtire face swollen and both eyes just tiny slots. I needed something light and fun and this book was it. It was sbout twin sisters, the more common one, ends up at Oxford, and lo and behold snasng herself a prince, which causes the competitive juices of the pretty twin to run riot and soon, both are abroad in merry England chasing royalty. A comedy of errors ensues and the main character, Rebecca, and her her prince are apart and together numerous times, thanks to her fumbling, gorgeous twin, Lacey, who is out for herself. The twins are on the outs almost as much as with their men. Suffice to say it all work out in the end. This is not a book for a very mature reader. One will not get huge insights into the human psyche regarding love and life from it. It is as light as a feather and simply an okay book to pass the day with.

Fictitious but probably not far from the truth!
This was a very enjoyable listen. There were obvious parallels with the real British royal family and I would imagine that the descriptions of life inside the web of the palace are pretty accurate. The story is very heart-warming at the end, and no spoilers... was in keeping with the relationship established during the rest of the book. Characters were well developed and the author did a great job at this. Worth the credit.

Sour Romance
I found myself actually hoping that Nick and Bex would break up and maybe revisit the relationship after a few years. I like romance novels because they usually leave you with a warm-fuzzy feeling, this one was a train wreck that left me feeling depressed.
