this book is one of my favourites in the series. I am amazed at the imagination that came up with this world and the people and events in it. The ability of the writer to bring emotion from a story and to bring the characters to life is what made her one of the best.

Jaxom is probably the most complex character written in the Pern trilogy and his adventures kept me enthralled as a young teen while also engaging me on a whole different level as an adult. The White Dragon is one of my favourite Pern books. I love that the same reader read all but one of dragonrider books, because of the consistency and the rich voice.

Ruth is the best dragon!
