À propos de cet audio

Torment: Part One is a dark, taboo, MC, contemporary romance.

How did I get here? Broken, bruised, and mentally shattered. For most of my life, my older stepbrother, Shay, was my hero, my rock, and my best friend. The one I knew I could always rely on. For many years, I accepted everyone and everything around me. But as I grew up, the veil was lifted, and I slowly came to understand how f*cked up it all really is.

These men, who I considered uncles and close family friends, are members of the dominant MC, The Celtic Beasts. Shay is not only a proud member. He is the one they send in to do their dirty work. For some reason, this tough, muscled, terrifying guy, needs me to ground and comfort him. But I have always had bigger plans. Bigger dreams. I don’t want to be trapped here, in this life that is dark, bloody and violent. I want to get out, escape… but Shay has other plans for me.

What do you do when your protector becomes the very root of your torment?

This series is so tragic and intense. Very well written and the narrator is perfection!

Wow, just wow

Just amazing. Worth the credit 100%. So dark but so romantic. If you’re a fan of Lauren Biel you’ll love these.

Favourite book series of 2025.

Not at all what I was expecting, but I’m not disappointed. It’s a disturbing coming of age story that is unsettling to listen to at times. At first it seemed kind of sweet… I love an over-protective, touch her and die trope, but this book takes a dark turn. It’s an uncomfortable juxtaposition of love, adoration & cherishment mixed with obsessive control, manipulation and inappropriate behavior with a child. Lines gets bury as the story unfolds slowly with a dual timeline and then twists down into a spiral of disturbing psychological trauma and abuse. There is a heavy dose of low key pedo grooming that happens over the span of years and then later nonconsensual sex. Both were unsettling to listen to. Be warned. The plot revealed itself in such an angsty way. It was very well done. The ending was crazy. The narration is great. My only real complaint is with the authenticity of the young FMC. If an author is going to write portions of the story from the perspective of a 7 year old then a great deal of consideration should go into making sure those flashbacks are authentic. Instead, 7 year old Mina uses words like “moniker”, “remarkably”, “broody”, “erratic”, “ramshackled”, etc…

Different than expected
