Publisher's Summary

Summer camp is a traditional teenage rite of passage, but when you add supernatural powers to the typically high dosage of adolescent hormones - you get an even more combustible mix. Sixteen-year-old werewolf twins Kate and Logan Danvers are none too thrilled at being shipped off to a supernatural youth leadership conference in West Virginia.

From the moment they arrive at the camp, the twins sense something is off, and they react in their usual manner - Logan reserving judgment and surveying the setup while Kate charges forward, determined to get answers. Kate and Logan quickly ascertain that most of the conference attendees have already formed hostile factions, leaving the twins and a few other misfits to band together.

What seems like teen hormones in overdrive becomes something much more dangerous, even deadly. Add in a strange magic-warded cabin in the woods and a local history rife with curses and macabre legends, and it becomes clear this was a really, really bad place to build a camp for teenage supernaturals.

Author's note: This is book 1 in a YA duology. As with all my YA trilogies, this first book ends in a cliff-hanger. Book 2, Wolf's Curse, comes out in March.

Great Story

I really enjoyed the storyline however the performance was horrible to say the least. the female narration was ok but the male was almost unbearable. Very choppy and monotone like in his reading. Extremely obvious he was reading and not performing. I highly recommend some new narration. Otherwise the story was excellent with the non-stop action.

This is a good book for teens

I don’t recommend this for adults but I think teens would like it. It has an interesting storyline that has good potential but I get very annoyed when a book stops right in the middle of a story in order for the reader/listener to get the next book. The author needs to complete one book and do a good job of it before moving on to another.

Wolf’s Bane

Lots of action. Unsolved mysteries to carry over to the next book. This is a good supernatural book full of suspension that will appeal to teen readers.

Read by is not my cup of tea

I’m not sure if it’s the people who read this or that quality of the recording but it was not the greatest.

Finally

I have been waiting for another installment from the Otherworld series. Wolf's Bane did not disappoint! This is a YA novel so don't expect everything to be tied up on a neat package at the end. I am eagerly awaiting Wolf's Curse.

Great fun with lots of atmosphere and mystery

I really enjoyed this audiobook. First off I’m a big fan of Kelley Armstrong’s “Otherworld” series. It was one of the first urban fantasy series I read and it hooked me on the genre. How fun to see Elena and Clay’s children all grown up and immersed in angsty teenhood. Secondly I’ve been an audiobook listener for years and I think the narrators Justis Bolding and Austin Rising did a great job with all the characters voices.

The story develops well, we start off by seeing the twins at home with their families and we get a peek of them in their dual nature as werewolves. The mystery starts to develop when the twins are sent off to a leadership camp with other paranormal teens. Everyone is acting strange and the twins soon realize somethings not right. They make some friends and enemies and the tension starts to build.

Although this is a teen book it reads well for an adult audience. The writing is excellent as always, great character development, an interesting location and a well thought out mystery. This book ends on a cliff hanger which didn’t bother me at all because I felt it ended at the right spot. Now the author has more time to develop the storyline and the intriguing mystery. This is a new series and we had a lot to learn about Kate and Logan. I’m eagerly awaiting for the sequel Wolf’s Curse.

Predictably young adult

I enjoyed some of the characters but found the plot predictable and strangely boring. I think the author is capable but was overall not impressed.
