Selena Quintanilla, named the “Queen of Tijano music,” was an American singer, songwriter, and fashion icon who topped the charts in the 80s and 90s. Her career skyrocketed to global fame, but it was cut short when her path crossed with Yolanda Salvidar. Yolanda claimed to be Selena’s biggest fan, and formed a relationship with the star. Yolanda became the fan-club manager, headed two of Selena’s boutique’s, and became a dear friend of hers. When Yolanda’s embezzlement was uncovered, Selena ended their friendship, and Yolanda’s anger turned to a deadly rage.

Episode 207: The Murder of Carlene Conley

In March 2015, Paige Conley called 9-1-1 to report she had found her mother dead. When officers arrived, they found Paige covered in her mother’s blood. Paige’s statements as to what happened were ever changing, and soon the history of Paige’s violence toward her mother was revealed. It wasn’t until a trial in 2017 that the truth came out.

Episode 205: The Lawson Family Murders

Charles “Charlie” Lawson and his wife Fannie married in 1911 and went on to start a large family. In 1929, the Lawsons had a successful tobacco farm and a little cabin that housed their family of 9. For unknown (but debated) reasons, Charlie Lawson murdered 7 of his 8 children on Christmas Day before taking his own life, leaving his eldest teenage son the lone survivor of the family.
