    Questions:
    Christopher Bilyk
I picked up a powermatic 15” planer and 6” jointer. Rust everywhere. So I took the planer down to bare metal. Should I repaint in powermatic gold or repaint a different color?

    Nick from NV Woodshop
I’m going to have product in a consignment store. I’m a little concerned about my stuff selling without me there to talk about it, like doing a demo of a whiskey smoker, saying the Wahoo board is double sided, etc. Any thoughts on how to best display and communicate key selling points without being able to physically be there?
And I wanted to give a quick shoutout to the Discord - if you haven’t checked it out, you should!

I have a dilemma. My current shop setup is split across two locations 3 miles apart. I have Thunder Bolt laser and a 4ft by 2ft CNC (not an Onefinity) in a climate controlled shed at my house. The other location is a storage unit, I have all of my traditional larger shop tools there. Cabinet table saw, Miter station, Joiner, Planer, Router table and an array of bench top sanding equipment. The situation is not ideal but is currently my only option. I have made some duplicate purchases of my smaller cordless tools to put them at both locations, but where do I stop? What tools are an absolute must have for that immediate post processing of CNC'd items.

    Whats on our bench: 🎶

Pete is still working on the garden and landscaping the yard.

Dan got a smaller truck, has been working on getting out into the shop more,

Braden is also landscaping, running new electrical, and working on a CNC’d chandelier.

    Questions:

    Matt Broderick

Just thought I would share this with you. I have been playing with the free version of Fusion 360 for 3D modeling but have never pulled the trigger on the subscription due to the price and this being a low level side hustle for me.

However, I just found out you can create student accounts if you have a child 13 years or older. I have twins so I created a student account for each of them. They use one account for the software Revit (more of an architectural modeling software) to create DnD maps and things like that. (You may have guessed we are kind of a nerdy family.) I am using the other account and digging more into Fusion 360.

    Greg D’Ambrosio

    GTD Woodworks

I’ve got a $350 Amazon gift card and I’m looking to put it toward my workshop. One idea is to upgrade my DeWalt 735 planer with a Shelix helical head. The only catch is, I’m planning to upgrade to a 15” Grizzly floor model in the next year or so, and I’ll likely sell the DeWalt when I do.

I also have a Ridgid 6” straight knife jointer I could upgrade with a helical head, but eventually I’d like to move up to an 8” jointer.

So if you were in my shoes, would you put the money into upgrading either of these, knowing they’re both temporary? Or would you invest it somewhere else in the shop like a track saw?

    Brock

    BrickTuba Creations

Here is my question about moving shops. Going to be moving to a bigger space, but also a smaller space. Have to fit a car in our new one car garage. The basics of the question would be, if you would sell the tools you barely use and buy new when you need them or make the trips to make it work? Also, what types of projects would you want to build to make some quick money in your "free time"? I start back school in August, I'm a Music teacher.

Enjoy that audio file, although I believe I'm a lot smarter than Brick Tamland... I do hold a Bachelor and Masters degree in Education... so, not by much! LOL
