  • How Solo Travel Transforms Loneliness into Solitude - Tsvety Roo : 168
    Sep 15 2025

Tsvety Roo is a digital nomad and solo traveller on a mission to explore loneliness, self-discovery, and what it truly means to connect in today’s fast-paced world.

Her journey began when she made the bold decision to leave a successful career at a NYC agency, embrace minimalism, and step into life as a nomad. For the past two years, Tsvety has lived without a permanent home, travelling through 22 countries and visiting 37, uncovering how solo travel can lead not only to deeper connections with others but also to a more meaningful relationship with oneself.

Through raw honesty and lived experience, she shares how she broke free from isolation, embraced fear instead of waiting for it to disappear, and discovered the surprising power of meaningful connections with strangers. Along the way, she learned to slow down, stay longer in each destination, and even create “mini communities” that offered a sense of belonging.

What makes Tsvety’s story compelling isn’t just the places she’s been, but the profound inner transformation she’s undergone. Solo travel taught her to distinguish between loneliness and solitude, redefine what “home” means, and adapt with resilience when plans went awry. Travelling minimally—with just what she truly needs—became not only practical but liberating.

Her story is an invitation to step outside your comfort zone and discover how choosing the unfamiliar can transform not only the way you travel, but the way you live.

    Let's enjoy Tsvety's story.

  • How Random Acts of Kindness Transform Leadership - Ben Dias : 167
    Aug 19 2025

Leadership through mentorship is the heartbeat of this inspiring conversation.

Ben Dias shares how a job he took after high school to support his family—born out of necessity—grew into a fulfilling 30-year career, thanks to the guidance of remarkable mentors.

What brings Ben to the podcast, however, is a single act of kindness: a stranger repairing his broken trailer in twenty minutes, refusing payment beyond the cost of parts. That moment shifted Ben’s entire perspective on generosity, sparking a ripple effect of paying it forward that continues to shape his leadership style.

A powerful theme emerges: the evolution of emotional intelligence in leadership. Ben contrasts the days when yelling and intimidation were mistaken for strength with today’s recognition that “nothing turns somebody away quicker than continuous emotional outbursts.” True leadership, he reminds us, is defined by calm, empathy, and resilience.

His journey is both humble and profound: from modest beginnings to building a successful career, Ben’s openness to mentorship has allowed him to empower others. Perhaps most moving is hearing how his adult children now challenge and mentor him in return—a testament to the generational power of guidance.

This episode is a reminder that leadership isn’t about authority; it’s about impact, connection, and the legacy of how we make others feel.

  • Sleep in Heavenly Peace Beds for kids - Luke Michelson - 164
    Jul 8 2025

Luke shares the journey from that first bed build with his church youth group to leading an international movement powered by volunteers, local chapters, and companies eager to make a difference. More than just building beds, they are a community working together to restore dignity, comfort, and hope, one child at a time.
If you've ever wondered how a single act of kindness can create a wave of positive change for so many, Luke's conversation will beautifully demonstrate this.
Luke Mickelson transformed a simple family project into Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an international organization that has provided over 300,000 beds to children who were previously sleeping on floors. What began as a bunk bed built with Boy Scouts in his Idaho garage has evolved into over 400 chapters across four countries, addressing the hidden crisis of "child bedlessness" that affects approximately 3% of children in every community.
    Let's enjoy his story.

    Jun 23 2025

Apparently, learning to swim as an adult isn’t just about technique—it’s about healing your relationship with water and with yourself.

In this episode, mindful swim coach Cori Myka shares her powerful journey from self-taught swimmer to transformational guide. She explains why traditional swim lessons often fail adults and how fear, judgment, and past experiences influence our ability to learn.

Cori is the founder of Calm Within Adult Swim, with over 25 years of
experience in adult swim education. She specializes in helping adults overcome their fear of water through a unique blend of mental and physical training techniques.

Through mindfulness, emotional awareness, and compassionate, step-by-step instruction, Cori helps adults rewrite their “swim story,” build trust in themselves, and find presence in the water. Her approach—80% mental, 20% physical—is about more than swimming; it’s about change, self-compassion, and discovery.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    • How Cori began teaching swimming at age 5, even before she had formal lessons herself
    • Why traditional methods overlook the emotional barriers adults face
    • How small, manageable steps help build trust and confidence
    • The power of mindfulness in staying present and quieting self-judgment
    • Why focusing on what feels good leads to success
    • How each of us carries a unique “swim story” that shapes our learning
    • How Cori now leads warm-water retreats and is launching a new podcast: Mindfulness in Motion

  • Nunca es Tarde - Cuatro Cuerdas, Nuevos Sueños - Maria Virginia Lara Diaz 162
    May 31 2025

  • The Full Catastrophe - Finding Belonging After Repeated Loss - Casey Mulligan Walsh 161
    May 5 2025

What does it mean to truly belong? When Casey lost her father at 11, her mother at 12, and her brother at 20, she began a lifelong search for family. Through this journey, she realized that what she was truly seeking was a sense of belonging, which would shape everything that followed. I find this conversation about her new memoir, "The Full Catastrophe: All I Ever Wanted, Everything I Feared," to be deeply moving. Her story explores how grief can coexist with joy and how true belonging differs from merely fitting in.

Casey Mulligan Walsh is an author nominated for Best of the Net. She is a founding editor of In a Flash literary magazine and serves as an ambassador for the Family Heart Foundation, which has impacted her family across generations. Casey lives in upstate New York with her husband, Kevin, and has more books than she can count.
