Jeremiah 10:23–24 teaches that:

• Humans are not capable of directing their lives perfectly on their own

• We must rely on God for wisdom and guidance

• When God corrects us, we should desire His loving discipline, not His wrath

This same truth is demonstrated in Joshua 9, when:

• Joshua and the Israelites were deceived by the Gibeonites

• They made a peace treaty without seeking God’s guidance

• The result brought long-term consequences they couldn’t undo

Joshua and the leaders trusted their eyesight instead of God’s insight. They said “yes” to something God would have warned them about — if they had asked.

Isaiah 30:1 was spoken to Judah’s leaders who, terrified of Assyria, secretly planned an alliance with Egypt instead of trusting God — revealing their rebellion, unbelief, and human-centered politics.

Even today, Isaiah 30:1 challenges God’s people to:

• Seek God’s counsel first, not human schemes,

• Trust in God’s power, not political or personal “Egypts,”

• And remember that faithlessness + self-reliance = rebellion in God’s eyes.

• No human being can fully comprehend God’s thoughts or wisdom by their own intellect.

• But God’s Spirit reveals those thoughts to believers.

• Through the Holy Spirit, we are given “the mind of Christ” — the ability to understand God’s will, love, and truth.

David’s Prayer of Humble Praise (vv.18–29)

• David goes before God in awe and gratitude:

  • He marvels at God’s grace toward him and Israel.

  • He praises God’s greatness and uniqueness.

  • He prays for God to fulfill His promise to bless David’s house forever.

What is meditation and why is it important ?

Psalm 63:6 highlights meditation as loving, continuous reflection on God.

It shows that meditation is not limited to formal prayer times—it’s an inner dwelling on God’s presence and Word, even in quiet moments like lying awake at night, filling the mind and heart with thoughts of Him.

The woman at the well (John 4) illustrates how trauma can shape a person’s life. She experienced social trauma (isolation and stigma), relational trauma (loss and broken relationships), and cultural trauma (gender and ethnic prejudice). Her thirst for love and belonging points to spiritual trauma—a deep inner emptiness. Jesus meets her with compassion, not condemnation, validating her story and restoring her identity. She is empowered to become a witness, showing how encounters with grace can bring healing and purpose after trauma.
