  • Coming-of-Screen With... Justin Wu and Roan Curtis
    Nov 26 2025

This interview is with director Justin Wu and actress Roan Curtis. The duo recently collaborated in ‘Sidelined 2: Intercepted’, the sequel to Tubi’s hit rom-com, ‘Sidelined: The QB and Me’.

After the first film explored the enemies-to-lovers romance between Dallas and Drayton during their senior year of high school, its anticipated follow-up will focus on how the couple tries to make their relationship work while in college. Dallas is pursuing her dance aspirations while Drayton tries to stand out on the football field. Yet, as their busy schedules clash and new people come into their lives, the main characters must figure out whether they are meant to be together or if they should move on.

In this conversation with Justin and Roan, you’ll learn more about how the director approached this new chapter in Drayton and Dallas’ relationship on screen, as well as understand more about how Roan made her character, Charlotte, three-dimensional as opposed to the typical alternate love interest barging into the main couple’s love story.
