Come join us for Episode V of our popular "Confessions of a Rock ’n Roll Zelig” podcast where co-host Holly Quirk is once again joined by her sister Shanna Breckenfeld to shine a light on their “Zelig” dad Del Breckenfeld’s unique (and very entertaining) life in the entertainment industry. This episode’s podcast covers everything from those otherworldly ZZ Top video guitars to a tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John. The episode also premieres a new ongoing segment entitled “Heroes and Villains” where they spin the magic wheel to determine who will be the next subject for discussion….you get the picture and certainly will want to find out!

  • Episode 4: Confessions of a Rock and Roll Zelig
    Jul 20 2022

"Join us for our new, and a very special episode of “Confessions of a Rock ’n Roll Zelig.” Our host Holly Quirk along with her dad Del Breckenfeld, the Zelig himself, will be welcoming her sister Shanna for the first time to the podcast. Both entertaining and very humorous, Episode #4 gives you the listener a first-hand account of the Holly/Shanna sisterhood accompanying their father on some of his most memorable “Zelig” moments including hanging out with Richie Sambora and wife Heather Locklear at their fantastic estate, french fries with Meat Loaf (the singer not the food), backstage with Extreme and Van Halen, and dancing with the singer of the band Cracker at their secret after-show club (unbeknownst to dad). And that’s just for starters so you don’t want to miss it. Who knows, maybe they are even creating the next generation of Rock ’n Roll Zeligs!"

  • RnRZelig Ep.1: Meet the Zelig Del Breckenfeld
    Mar 22 2022

Okay, I know what you are thinking; “Who is this guy I never heard of and furthermore, why is he trying to glom onto the Woody Allen character?” Well yes, the Woody Allen title character in the movie did inadvertently end up interjecting himself into events next to some of the most famous people in history. However, I never intended to interject myself into the lives of famous music, entertainment and sports celebrities, but because of my chosen profession, I just kinda ended up there. I did choose the title of this podcast loosely based on that part of Woody’s character’s namesake (and maybe because of his recent alleged transgressions, a good time to rebrand that title, at least for now) but I also thought the word “Zelig” originally had a much wider meaning.

These will be short stories, or vignettes if you’d like, that get to the point of the matter and certainly not to imply that this will be a confessional “tell-all” book, or reveal something shocking about people I write about - that’s not me nor my intention. My purpose is to present my personal glimpse into a world where the talented and famous live their lives out of range of the public, except for carefully crafted press releases or only their outward persona presented through the media. Everything from the craziest antics to the most sincere acts of kindness can be exploited by the media for the utmost effect in creating and nurturing an image to capture the public’s short attention span. And it should not go without saying that so many in the public spotlight are masters themselves in manipulating the message they want to amplify. Therefore, depending upon your viewpoint, as an antidote or complement to that messaging, we will present some unique interactions with everyone from legends like the Rolling Stones - to Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Richie Sambora, Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, Bonnie Raitt, Eddie Van Halen, Johnny Depp, Dolly Parton, members of the Eagles and Motley Crue, plus so many more, including members of several sports hall of fame, characters like Charlie Sheen, Jack Black and even British royalty. Some stories are interwoven with some artists appearing in different podcats at later dates, and some are complete stand-alones (NOTE: A few of these stories have appeared in my first book, “The Cool Factor; Building Your Brand Through Partnership Marketing” (Wiley & Sons Publishers) but they were presented in a different context.

A truly unique podcast that can’t be duplicated anywhere else.
