Imagine committing a crime and then being so angry at having been convicted that you spend more than 20 years after your release trying to get your conviction overturned. This is Walter Leroy Moody Jr. in a nutshell. When false narratives and unfounded appeals didn’t produce the result he had hoped for, he channeled his anger into murder by sending bombs to innocent people. If he couldn’t have his way, he would direct all his rage at the court responsible for denying his appeals.

Using the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. as his murderous roadmap, Gary Ray Bowles left innocent men dead from Florida to Maine in 1994, killing six men before being apprehended at a Florida employment office. Gary thought of himself as a hustler, someone who exploited the benevolence of others, then turned on them in the cruelest way possible bymurdering them, violently stuffing something in their mouth, stealing from them, and then moving on to the next unsuspecting victim.
