    Oct 30 2025

Simon O'Donnell has quite the CV. Former Australian cricket champion, St. Kilda footballer, multi-media personality and leading racehorse owner and breeder.

And with the release of this episode of Food Bytes with Sarah Patterson, he becomes self-appointed Brussels Sprouts Ambassador to the World.

That dry O'Donnell sense of humour shines through this chat with Sarah and Kevin as Simon also names the worst vegetable ever, shares his thoughts on condiments, looks back on his illustrious sporting career and adds some spice to his days in front of the cameras.

The Food Poll this week features a culinary classic - the Quiche Lorraine. Is it a trumped up French tart or an timeless taste treat? It certainly evokes some wonderful, nostalgic memories for our It's Showtime guest Jen Seyderhelm, who shares her family secret to the perfect 'Quiche Jen Lorraine.'

  • Adam Treloar
    Oct 15 2025

Western Bulldogs star Adam Treloar is a keen foodie and as you will discover, he is as dextrous in the kitchen as he has been on the footy field over the course of his 258 AFL games. Whether it's his slow cooked satay chicken or a secret sweet treat that he has created, Adam can talk the talk and whisk the fork, though his most favourite food will surprise.

The Food Poll this week involves a curious dessert for the ages and from the ages, with its origins dating as far back as 14th century. Are you a yay or a nay for rice pudding?

  • Alison Arngrim
    Oct 8 2025

Little House on the Prairie was a worldwide television phenomenon and its stars became household names. Think Michael Landon, Melissa Gilbert and our guest this week, Alison Arngrim. Alison played the spoiled, snobbish bully Nellie Oleson. Not exactly the most likeable character on the show, but certainly one of most most talked about.

Here, Alison shares her incredible story of getting the part, how it changed her life - both then and now - and insights from her experiences of being on such a massive hit television show.

Alison loves the kitchen and has a cookbook in the works as well as a treasure trove of YouTube cooking videos, so we also get some very handy kitchen tips from the former restaurateur of Walnut Grove!

Our Food Poll is more British in origin. We ask if the chip butty takes your fancy.

  • Ian Rawlings
    Oct 2 2025

Back in the day, our guest this week Ian Rawlings played Australian television's most notorious bad boy come playboy Wayne Hamilton in the long-running soapie Sons and Daughters, and he loved every minute of it. As Ian tells Sarah and Kevin, nothing was off limits for Wayne, but Ian was also having the time of his life acting alongside the likes of Tom Richards, Rowena Wallace, Brian Blain and Leila Hayes.

Ian updates us on his life today, his signature dish and how his time on Neighbours as Phillip Martin allowed for his sweet tooth to be indulged.

The Food Poll heads down the biscuit aisle again as we pit two Arnotts cream favourites against each other, vying for the Tea Cup. It's Monte Carlo v Kingston

  • Kerri Pottharst
    Sep 24 2025

Our guest this week really is one of the Golden Girls of Australian sport, and 25 years after her nation-stopping performance, we are delighted to have Olympic Gold medallist Kerri Pottharst on the show.

The sands of Bondi Beach provided the perfect platform for Kerri and Natalie Cook to beat the world and bring home gold in the beach volleyball. A truly indelible memory of the Sydney Games.

Today, Kerri is still at the top of her game, but in a different arena as an in-demand speaker, MC, executive coach, mentor, author and mum.

Kerri takes us back to that magical fortnight of unforgettable athletic excellence, sharing the secret behind her winning combination with Natalie. She also tells us how she shapes up in the kitchen!

It's Showtime returns and this week, we meet Cathey Visscher, a multi award-winning conserve and baking queen who gives us an insight into how her homemade delights catch the judges' eyes, tastebuds and votes.

And we really have shaken things up for the Food Poll. Milkshakes, anyone? The flavoursome foursome on offer are Chocolate, Strawberry, Caramel Malt and Blue Heaven. Your mission is to choose only one.

It's footy finals time and with the AFL Grand Final just days away now, Paul Salmon - a man who is no stranger to that big stage - joins us this week.

Paul has some very fond memories of experiencing the ultimate success with the Bombers in the eighties and nineties. He also has an amazing coffee confession, not to mention an outrageous dream dinner party guest list.

Paul is hosting a unique Grand Final Week event at The Pullman in Melbourne, aptly titled Fish 'n' Sips - combining his finest tales from the footy field with some fine, carefully chosen whiskeys.

And just when you thought the Food Poll could not get any bigger, it is Cocolossal! We open the voting on the mighty Kellogg's Variety Pack. Who wins this Grand Final of breakfast cereals - Special K, Just Right, Sustain, Coco Pops, Cornflakes, Nutri Grain or Sultana Bran?
