À propos de cet audio

For Wales, See Wales is a podcast helping you better understand the most wonderful country on earth - Wales.

Each week we shine a light on the utterly bizarre (and often hilarious) world of Welsh politics and issues.

So many people care deeply about Cymru but very little attention is given to it by the wider UK media. This podcast aims to help fill this gap.

Guardian columnist Will Hayward along with comedians Mel Owen and Robin Morgan are here to pick apart the political scene in Wales with a combination of journalistic insight and satirical sideswipes.

For Wales, See Wales is a Hayman Media production.

This week the Pod gets silly as they look at a Welsh Conservative Senedd Member who dabbles with a (totally natural looking) social media video and gets very upset inside the Welsh Parliament.

Robin, Will and Mel then delve into what Jeremy Corbyn’s potential new party means for people in Wales.

The three then get serious as they deep dive into how religious organisations are taking public money in Wales while deliberately not helping the most vulnerable children in Cymru. Will gets very angry with the Catholic Church and Robin explains how he spent three hours making a delicious sauce.

Also Mel shares how the murder of George Floyd raised awareness for people of colour here in Wales.

The pod will also be performing another live show. This time we will be at Tŷ Pawb in Wrexham on September 6. Tickets available now here:

    About FWSW

100 years ago if you had picked up the Encyclopaedia Britannica and looked up “Wales” you would have seen four words - ‘For Wales, see England.’

This implied that Wales was no different to England. Not worthy of its own description. Second fiddle. Frankly, it implied that Wales was simply less of a country.

That is why we have launched our podcast: For Wales, See Wales.

It is a weekly look at Welsh politics looking at the issues that matter to people here.

There are so many people who are passionately Welsh, who care about Wales and want to better understand what is happening here.

The more informed people are on Welsh issues, the more they are able to hold politicians and decision makers to account for the things that affect their lives.

Just as importantly, we want to have a good laugh talking and learning about the country we love.

Plus we have some great merchandise which you can buy here: https://for-wales-see-wales.teemill.com/

  • “They are in serious trouble” The Welsh Labour conference
    Jul 3 2025

The three are reunited at last! Mel, Robin and Will dive into the Welsh Labour conference to discuss Keir Starmer’s dine and dash, Eluned Morgan hitting the decks and why Wales’ largest party are so disorganised.

Elsewhere Robin and Mel do a dramatic reading of the online pile-on Will received after suggesting that the UK be more democratic. Spoiler - Alfred the Great was not impressed.

  • Westminster tells Wales to “be grateful”
    Jun 26 2025

With Robin away, who knows where, this week Mel and Will carry the baton together to look at ANOTHER shafting of Wales courtesy of our pals in London.

Will breaks down how housing in Wales is holding us all back and while deliberate decisions by UK Labour are increasing homelessness in Cymru.

Mel then reaches new levels of outrage as a UK Treasury minister tell Wales to “be grateful” for being shortchanged.

Plus the big question, why are so many Welsh people falling over?

    BIG ANNOUNCEMENT.
