    Welcome, Millers fans, to your essential weekly summary! The past week for the Hopkins Post 320 Millers 17U was an absolute whirlwind of baseball drama! The week opened with an offensive explosion in a commanding 13-5 win against White Bear Lake. A disappointing loss to Wayzata Blue was followed by the Apple Valley Classic. A tie to Farmington, a loss to STMA, a tie with Wayzata Gold, a thrilling walk off win versus Eastview, a dub over Rosemount, and ending with a loss to Farmington.

    The undeniable highlight was the jaw-dropping 9-7 walk-off victory over Eastview Thunder Junior Legion Silver, an incredible five-run comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning, capped by Frank Huibregtse's dramatic two-run double that sealed the win! Colin Frodermann led a dominant pitching performance against Rosemount with 12 strikeouts in a 5-2 semifinal victory.

  • Cowley makes case for 2nd favorite child

    The Hopkins Post 320 Millers opened their season with a 2-1 victory over Prior Lake Junior Legion 17U in a pitcher's duel. Hopkins' win was anchored by pitcher Liam Cowley, who delivered a complete game, recording all 21 outs over seven innings while allowing only one run on seven hits and striking out five. The decisive runs for Hopkins came in the bottom of the third inning. Will Johnston sparked the 3rd inning with a double and later advancing to third. The scoring was initiated by an Ethan Nguyen sacrifice fly and immediately followed by a Michael Saladino double that brought in the second run. Prior Lake managed to score their single run in the top of the seventh inning on a Carter Benedict single. While Prior Lake out-hit Hopkins seven to four and committed no errors compared to Hopkins' one, the Millers secured the narrow opening day win played in chilly, drizzly rain.
