Today, The Duchess Tea Salon is where Loretta’s love for the ceremonial tradition of afternoon tea is showcased in her exquisitely appointed salon. Her clientele are vicariously transported to a world of civility, elegance, and refinement. She has curated a British-influenced afternoon tea experience “as good as London’s Goring Hotel,” says British High Commissioner to The Bahamas, His Excellency Thomas Hartley. This is Loretta’s current masterpiece, climatic crescendo and an experience steep in a quintessentially British tradition and the resurgence of the etiquette of a bygone era.
For more than two decades, Loretta worked professionally in the medical and dental profession, however, she was often called upon to share her passion and knowledge of etiquette, which evolved into sessions with corporate and professional individuals, youth, beauty pageant contestants and individuals aspiring to become more confident in their dining skills and overall interpersonal skills.
Loretta continued to hone her etiquette coaching skills with several global organizations, she was serendipitously led to Mr Philip Sykes and the prestigious British School of Excellence, where she embarked on the Train The Trainer programme. In January 2024, the British School Of Excellence Bahamas will officially be launched at The Duchess located at Café Channing Noelle, Caves Village Plaza, West Bay Street. Nassau, The Bahamas

Loretta’s passion lies in mentoring young people promoting confidence and leadership skills in women through education. As a National Director of Miss Universe Bahamas, Loretta uses this forum and opportunity to positively impact the lives of young women through pageantry.
She embraces each day with optimism and eager to learn something new. She’s an avid reader, loves epicurean travel, and enjoys music, art, fashion and transformative interior design.
She shares her life with her husband, Neonatologist Dr. Carlos Thomas and their three amazing children, Sean-Ryan, Channing and Courtney.
