  • Lake Oconee Family Fitness Part 2 - Where Strength Meets Support
    Dec 12 2025

Today we are continuing our deep dive into the world of fitness, resilience, and the powerful impact of a community’s well-being.

My guest is James Derrick, owner of Lake Oconee Family Fitness & Fero Fit, a place that’s become more than a gym, it’s a gathering point for families, athletes, and everyday people who want to feel stronger, healthier, and more confident. James has built a fitness environment that’s welcoming, supportive, and rooted in the belief that everyone, no matter their age or starting point, deserves a space to pursue better health.

But James isn’t just a gym owner. He’s also a competitive rugby player, bringing the grit, teamwork, and mental toughness of the sport into his daily work and training philosophy. We’ll talk about how rugby shapes his leadership, why he’s so passionate about helping people become their best selves, and how Lake Oconee Family Fitness is meeting the needs of a diverse and fast-growing community.

From motivation and mindset to the realities of running a family-focused fitness center, this conversation is packed with insight, inspiration, and lots of energy!

So whether you’re a weekend walker, a seasoned athlete, or someone just thinking about starting your fitness journey, you’re in for a great episode.

  • Charlie Kirk: A Legacy That Lives On: Echos of Freedom
    Nov 21 2025

Today’s show will be a bit different. As I prepare to travel to Turning Point USA Headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, I thought it appropriate to publish this episode; to honor a man who believed deeply in America’s promise—and whose life became a call to action. Charlie Kirk: A Legacy That Lives On.

Charlie was more than a voice; he was a movement-maker at just 18 years old, when he founded Turning Point USA. Driven by faith, freedom, and the belief that every young person deserves a say in our future, he challenged the status quo.

But on September 10, 2025, at what should have been another campus event for change, the unthinkable happened: Charlie was taken from us far too soon. His work, however, did not end that day—it transformed.

As we honor Charlie, we’ll walk through his beginnings, his beliefs, the lives he touched, the tragedy that shook us all, and the new chapter now being led by his widow, Erika Kirk. Because often when one life ends in sacrifice, the spirit of a mission only grows stronger.

    Let’s begin...

  • Scams...'If It Sounds Too Good To Be True' - Part 2...Jason Blankenship From The Better Business Bureau On Modern Scams & How To Protect Yourself
    Nov 14 2025

Today’s episode continues last week's conversation with Jason Blankenship, Vice President of the Better Business Bureau, and we’re talking about something that affects everyone — scams. They come by phone, by text, by email, and sometimes even right to your doorstep. And they’re getting smarter, slicker, and harder to spot.

We’ll dive into the newest tricks scammers are using to steal your money and your information, and we’ll break down real examples so you’ll know exactly what to look out for. Jason will also share practical steps you can take to protect yourself, your family, and even your business from becoming the next target.

From fake bank alerts and tech support scams to those “too good to be true” text messages, this conversation will open your eyes and arm you with knowledge you can use right away.

So before you answer that next unknown call or click that suspicious link — listen to this episode. It might just save you from becoming the next victim.

  • Speaking' From The Heart - Kay Jones - The Story of Lake Oconee Speech Therapy
    Oct 31 2025

Today’s episode is all about something we often take for granted, the ability to communicate: to speak, to share, to connect.

My guest, Kay Jones, has spent more than 40 years as a speech therapist, helping people of all ages rediscover their voices and their confidence after challenges that made communication difficult. From children learning their first clear words to adults recovering from strokes or injuries, Kay has dedicated her life to reminding people that every voice matters.

Now, after four decades of experience in schools, clinics, and hospitals, Kay is opening a new chapter, quite literally, by launching her own private practice right here in our community! We’ll talk about her journey, how the field of speech therapy has evolved, and the deep emotional connection between speech and identity.

You’ll hear stories of transformation, the science behind speech recovery, and why Kay believes that helping someone find their voice is one of the most rewarding callings there is.

This conversation is a beautiful reminder that words have power, and with the right help, anyone can find theirs again.

  • The Story of 'Jesus In A Bar': Faith Without Walls
    Oct 24 2025

Today’s show takes us into one of the most unique and inspiring ministries you’ll ever hear about, a group that’s taking the message of Jesus far beyond the church walls and into the places where people who need Him are!

My guest is Josh Willcuts, the founder of Jesus in a Bar, a faith movement and band built on a simple but powerful belief: there’s no place Jesus wouldn’t go to share His love. From bars to prisons, hospitals to nursing homes, this ministry uses music, story, and compassion to reach people who might never walk through a traditional church door.

We’ll talk about how Jesus in a Bar began, the powerful moments that have shaped their journey, and their upcoming benefit concert at Briar Patch Farm, an evening of incredible music and unshakable faith that’s helping raise funds to expand their mission even further.

It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s rooted in something we all need…hope. Whether you’re a believer, a seeker, or maybe someone who loves a good story about purpose and courage, this episode will remind you that sometimes the most sacred moments happen in the most unexpected places.

Let’s meet the man behind the movement…and the message behind Jesus in a Bar.
