À propos de cet audio

Confession...I am a slow but persistent trail runner who likes to take on crazy trail running adventures. This is a podcast about the weird world of running, trail running and ultramarathons. Mostly from the perspective of the back of the pack...ordinary people trying to do extra-ordinary things. Topics will focus on gear, health, nutrition, training, trails and trail races around MN and the Midwest, and also taking a look all of this through the lens of older runners. Get ready for an ultra slow, but highly optimistic ride. We will get to that finish line, even if we are...running behind.Joey Metzger Course et jogging

  • Neeraj Egbert | Here For The Adventure, Here For The Immigrants
    Dec 6 2025

This is Neeraj's story... He was born in India and grew up with the typical norms and traditions of his community, spending a few of his key formative years nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, in the idyllic village of Nainital. In 1994, he had the opportunity to visit the US through an exchange program, and it was quite the culture shock. He ultimately stayed though. Settling in Louisville, eventually getting married and landing in a career as a Physical Therapist. And while not athletic as a youth or young adult, he found his way to running and eventually to trail running. In late 2024, Neeraj won the lottery...the 2025 Western States Endurance Run lottery that is. In a race where the odds of getting selected are somewhere between the Powerball and Kentucky Derby Trifecta, Neeraj got in. He trained and ran the best race he could that day, but ultimately the timing clock on the Auburn track went blank about two minutes before Neeraj was able to cross the finish line - no belt buckle, no official finish time and no certainty that he would ever get the chance to run Western States again...and then something magical happened. Sometimes fate has a way of knowing just who to shine down on. This is his moment and this is his story.

  • Alex Baker | Never Moving On, Always Moving Forward
    Nov 22 2025

Alex met his wife Amanda when they were both in college. They got married, and after years of trying, they finally had a child. Tragically, while their child was still a toddler, Amanda was diagnosed with cancer and lost her battle to that relentless disease 16 months later. In this powerful and emotional conversation, Alex walks us down the path of that pain and loss, but also through the transformational journey of change and hope that happens afterwards. With the rallying cry of "Never moving on, but Always moving forward", Alex takes back control of his health, his life, and takes the fight to cancer.

  • Julie Anding | Grit, Grace & Choosing To Live On Purpose
    Nov 8 2025

Julie Anding, like me, is a cutoff chaser. I met Julie at Mammoth Trailfest where we both got cutoff at the summit of Mammoth mountain. It turns out that was not her first (or even second) time doing that. We get the full details on Julie’s history of running, trail running and chasing cutoffs. We also learn how Julie is using her yoga business and positive mindset to make a difference and help heal those among us who are vulnerable and hurting. Not only that, Julie is doing all of this while dealing with a rare neurological disorder that has impacted her life in a significant way. This episode has it all and is one of my all time favorite conversations. The mindset revolution is here folks, and her name is Julie Anding!
