  • Does it Make Cents to Refinance Your Mortgage?
    Oct 30 2020
As mortgage rates continue to hit record lows, many people are refinancing their mortgages. Before deciding to refinance, I’d answer two questions. Does the math work What does it allow you to do? Listen as I walk through an example of a homeowner refinancing their $750,000, 30-year mortgage at 4.5%, how it's possible they could pay more in interest by refinancing to a 30-year mortgage at 3.5%, and why that may not be such a bad idea. • Why Playing Time Matters
    Oct 2 2020
Around this time each year, my wife and I watch HBO’s Hard Knocks. It’s a reality sports series that follows an NFL team through training camp as they prepare for the upcoming season. One of the reoccurring storylines of the show and my wife’s favorite part are the handful of players who are longshots to make the team. Had the LA Chargers been profiled in 2017, Austin Ekeler would have been one of the longshots. Earlier this year, Ekeler is the starting running back for the LA Chargers and just inked a 4-year $24.5 million deal.  None of us will be the starting running back for any NFL team. Still, we can have an Ekeler-like opportunity with enough playing time.  Read the Blog - https://deepinthetrenches.com/why-playing-time-matters/ (Why Playing Time Matters) Reading Time - 2 Minutes
