  • Reunions: Life’s Unwelcome Performance Review - Business Oddcast S01E15
    Dec 17 2025

Welcome to Episode 15 of The Business Oddcast! This week we dive into reunions — the good, the bad, and the painfully awkward.

We unpack why reunions can feel like an unwelcome, unpaid performance reviews for your life: “Are you married? Happy? Winning?”. We talk intentional vs. accidental reunions, school-specific trauma, bullying, masking, sensory overwhelm, and the aftershock of rumination. Stuart shares the story of finally facing a school reunion (and levelling up his armour), while Hannah admits she’s heroically dodged every official invite, but has had a few healing run-ins in supermarket aisles.

Expect tangents (obviously), tips on pacing, boundaries, alcohol (or not), and planning a recovery day. Also featuring: the “staircase wit” problem, Facebook unfriending weirdness, tequila-Stu lore, and a teaser for our Christmas special. Come for the catharsis, stay for the honesty (and the chaos).

  • Neurodiverse Holidays - Packing, Panic & Pretending to Relax - Business Oddcast S01E14
    Dec 10 2025

Welcome to Episode 14 of the Business Oddcast! This week we get brutally honest about holidays — the so-called “relaxation myth” and why they can be anything but restful for neurodivergent brains.

From the social script of “Going anywhere nice?” to packing panic, airport queues, security pat-downs, and the existential crisis of the wrong mustard, we unpack how novelty, noise, and lost routines turn “time off” into full-body admin.

We talk control, safe exits, sensory landmines, and why some of us need a toolkit, a multi-tool (…and apparently a scalpel) just to stay calm. We share family-trip war stories (Center Parcs wins, enforced fun loses), why solo recharge time matters, and how “doing” holidays tied to special interests beat “being” holidays on a beach.

Takeaways: plan outs, protect routine anchors, design trips around genuine interests, and remember — rest isn’t a location, it’s a condition you create.

  • Surviving Celebrations: Coping with Seasonal Events, Birthday, Holidays - Business Oddcast S01E13
    Dec 3 2025
Welcome to Episode 13 where we will dive into surviving celebrations and coping with seasonal events, like birthdays, holidays and social gatherings. We look at the following * Explore why celebrations can be draining, overwhelming, or triggering for neurodiverse folks. * Share the stress and anxiety many feel around birthdays, holidays, and social obligations. * Share practical strategies for setting boundaries, reducing overwhelm, and creating neurodiverse-friendly traditions. The holidays and birthdays are marketed as joyful, magical times—but for many neurodiverse business owners, they can bring pressure, sensory overload, and social exhaustion. We unpack the hidden challenges of celebrations: from the stress of being “on” socially, to gift-giving anxiety, to running a business while the world slows down. We’ll share survival tips, such as: * Sensory overload * Social pressure * Emotional weight * Business pressures * Birthdays in particular * The expectation of gift-giving (choosing, affording, receiving). * Family traditions that don’t fit neurodiverse needs * The very real shame spiral: “Why can’t I enjoy this like everyone else?” We offer our own thoughts, experiences and coping strategies & survival tools, tips and tactics. Such as; Setting boundaries: saying no to events, limiting time spent, creating exit plans. * Redefining celebrations: smaller gatherings, asynchronous connection, solo rituals. * Sensory adjustments: quiet corners, headphones, downtime. * Giving yourself permission for a slower pace. Remember celebrations don’t have to look “traditional.” (whatever that means these days) and it’s okay to make holidays functional and informal instead of joining in with the compulsory social scene. We want you to leave feeling validated, prepared, and with permission to celebrate any event in your own way. Share with anyone you think this will resonate with and we can build a healthier, happier way to work! • Getting Sh!t Done with Pathological Demand Avoidance - The Business Oddcast S01E12
    Nov 26 2025
Welcome to Episode 12 of the Business Oddcast where we discuss Getting Sh*t Done with PDA. PDA, Pathological Demand Avoidance isn’t procrastination, it’s the brain’s hard “nope”. In this episode, we dig into how PDA shows up for neurodivergent business owners, why it gets mistaken for laziness, and how to work with your brain instead of against it. From school days of “but why?” to client dynamics, we unpack the anxiety, control and context behind PDA and share ways to keep moving forward and showing up without tipping into shame spirals and anxiety. We talk about the repelling-poles of a magnet feeling, why; “because I said so” backfires, and how autonomy and 2-mph vs 200-mph energy swings shape our days. We draw the line between PDA and procrastination, confess the anarchist-raccoon with a crowbar urge when rules are imposed, and show how self-employment helps with energy management, emotions regulation but can also hinder at times. We also look at deadlines, client fit and setting boundaries. It’s a packed program! This is our “getting-sh*t-done” playbook and we discuss all our coping strategies, from using micro-steps, fire breaks & time buffers, to time-blocking, reframing demands as choices, and returning to our why. There’s also a look at apps to assist and we ask if body-doubling/quiet co-working, helps. So, sit back and enjoy this episode and celebrate whatever your small wins are this week, why not let us know? We love to hear from you, contact details below. • Neurodivergent Productivy Tips: Avoiding Hustle Culture - The Business Oddcast S01 EP09
    Nov 5 2025
Welcome to this week’s episode, we’re flipping the script on hustle culture and asking a bold question: Is 'hustle culture' totally toxic for neurodivergent brains? We're looking at neurodivergent productivity tips to help you escape hustle culture! Learn how to manage energy, prevent burnout, and redefine success on your terms with practical advice and real-life strategies. In a world obsessed with faster, bigger, and more, it’s easy to get caught up in hustle culture — the endless race to do all the things, all the time. But what if there was another way? A healthier, more sustainable approach to business that values quality over quantity, creativity over constant output, and wellbeing over burnout? Neurodivergent individuals often thrive when they can work with their natural rhythms, rather than against rigid schedules or unrealistic expectations. Traditional hustle culture is all about speed, constant output, and 24/7 availability, which is a recipe for burnout, anxiety, and overwhelm for ND brains. We know, we have both been there and unfortunately got several ill-fitting t-shirts (with stains!). If you’ve ever felt like you’re constantly behind, not doing “enough,” or trapped in a cycle of work that drains your energy and joy, this episode is for you whether ND or not. We're deliving into what productivity really means for neurodivergent folks, and spoiler alert: it’s NOT about grinding 24/7 or chasing someone else’s idea of success. From energy-based scheduling tips that actually work, to why “slow business” might just save your sanity. Just like the slow food movement emerged as a response to the rush of fast food, the idea of Slow Business pushes back against the "go-go-go" mindset of modern work. It's about intentional growth, making thoughtful choices, and building a business that works with your energy and values - not against them. Instead of sprinting toward someone else's definition of success, Slow Business invites you to pause, breathe, and create at your own pace, while still thriving. So sit back and listen to us as we plough through a plethora of personal anecdotes and hopeful help you redefine success on your terms along the way, this episode is packed with real talk, laughs, and some strong rants along the way. • Rejection Sensitivity: The Hidden Enemy of Neurodiverse Success - The Business Oddcast S01E08
    Oct 29 2025
Dealing with Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD) in Business, is today's topic and in this episode we dive into one of the trickiest challenges many neurodiverse entrepreneurs face: Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD). Rejection hurts. But for neurodiverse entrepreneurs, it can feel brutal, demoralising and lead to feeling inadequate and a failure. In this week's episode, we tackle Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria head-on-with laughs, stories, and strategies you can actually use. ISSUES COVERED IN THIS EPISODE From feeling crushed by a “no,” to spiraling when someone doesn’t reply to your email, we get very real (and a little hilarious) about how RSD shows up for us in business. Expect stories about masking, marketing ghost-towns, and even how car clamping can be used as stand-up comedy training. Yes, really. But this episode isn’t just about the struggle, it’s about coping mechanisms, answers and insights develped over the years. We share the practical (and sometimes surprising) coping strategies that actually work, from scripting replies before you need them, to building rejection “resistance training,” and talk about how improv cvan take the sting out of sales. If you’ve ever felt like rejection is sabotaging your business dreams, this one’s for you. Tune in for the laughs, stay for the “aha!” moments, and walk away knowing you’re not alone in this.
