  • 742. Latin Femininity, Creativity and Coaching - With Carolina Padilla
    Nov 11 2025

I spoke with Carolina Padilla, an embodiment teacher, CEC course manager and cultural activist from Colombia, about how embodiment can be a force for healing and leadership. We explored how movement, community and ritual help people reconnect to belonging, and how these practices can repair the social and cultural wounds left by colonisation and conflict.

Carolina shares her perspective on leading from the body, working with collective trauma, and why cultural context matters when teaching embodiment.

  • 741. True Healing Without Quick Fixes - With Dr Kandis Lock
    Nov 5 2025

I spoke with Dr. Kandis Lock about what true healing looks like in a time of quick fixes and chronic stress. We explored how naturopathic medicine approaches health through connection - between body systems, emotions, lifestyle and environment.

Kandis shared insights from her clinical experience, including the patterns she sees again and again in modern illness, and why many people don't really need more pills - they need better awareness, rhythms and rest. We also talked about working with patients who feel stuck, the limits of Western medicine, and what holistic care looks like when it's done right.

  • 740. How Good Facilitation Changes Everything - With Myriam Hadnes
    Oct 28 2025

I talk with Myriam Hadnes about what good facilitation actually looks like, and why it matters now more than ever. We cut through the jargon and compare facilitation, coaching and training, then get practical about how you create learning that sticks.

Myriam and I dig into nervous system overload, psychological safety, and why embodied practices outperform information-only approaches. We also cover difficult conversations, holding space for emotion, boundary-setting, and what facilitative training looks like in an era of AI and endless content.

If you run groups, teach, or coach, this conversation offers concrete ways to help people learn deeper, stay regulated, and actually change their behaviour.

Check out Myriam's podcast here: https://workshops.work/podcast/

    -----------------------------------------------

Myriam has hosted the workshops work podcast for more than 300 episodes, publishing a new conversation with facilitation experts each week. During the pandemic, she founded the NeverDoneBefore Festival and community — an international online experiment where facilitators co-created and delivered hundreds of "never done before" workshops between 2020 and 2024.

Through her boutique agency workshops.work, Myriam and her team deliver over 200 workshops each year to help multinational organisations turn collaboration from a buzzword into a lived experience.

  • 739. How Screens Shape Young Minds - With Ranko Ceric
    Oct 21 2025

I spoke with coach, youth worker and martial arts teacher Ranko Čerić about how technology is shaping children's lives, health and attention. We explored what happens when screens become a constant presence from early childhood, how digital habits affect brain development, and why society has been slow to treat this as a public health issue.

Ranko brings a systems view, looking at how parents, schools and the tech industry each play a role in shaping the digital environment children grow up in. We also talk about attention, addiction, social learning and what a healthy relationship with technology could look like for the next generation.

  • 738. Embodiment Secrets About ADHD & Focus - With Mark Walsh & Dr Helen Machen-Pearce
    Oct 14 2025

I sat down with Dr. Helen Machen-Peace to explore ADHD through an embodied lens - what it really feels like, how it shapes attention and emotion, and how practices from embodiment can help with focus and regulation.

We talk about our personal experiences, the shifting understanding of ADHD, and why reframing it from "disorder" to "difference" changes everything. Helen brings insight from her clinical work, and we both share practical ways movement, awareness, and self-compassion can support people living with ADHD.

A down-to-earth conversation for anyone navigating distraction, intensity, or emotional overwhelm. For coaches or teachers who want to better understand neurodiverse students.

  • 737. How To Build A Business That Actually Helps People - With Carlos Saba
    Oct 7 2025

I sit down with Carlos to unpack a question every founder hears but few answer well: can a business genuinely do good and still be profitable?

We map the Venn diagram of purpose and profit, talk about the kinds of people who join this game, and name the bad actors who make the whole idea look naïve. Carlos explains how scalable businesses can stay grounded in meaningful value, why shareholder-first thinking often fails culture and customers, and what practical signs tell you a company is truly doing good rather than selling a story. Expect concrete examples, a critique of easy metrics, and a few rules for building a startup that lasts.

Carlos Saba is the co-founder of The Happy Startup School, a global community helping entrepreneurs and professionals design businesses (and lives) that feel aligned, meaningful, and human. Trained as a physicist and seasoned as a founder, Carlos now blends curiosity, humour, and compassion to guide people through the messy middle of change. His work focuses on building from the inside out, connecting vision, values, and embodiment, so that impact and income flow more effortlessly.

  • 735. No-Nonsense Coaching That Cuts Through Excuses - With Michael Serwa
    Sep 23 2025

I sat down with Michael Serwa, probably one of Britain's best-known no-nonsense coaches, to talk about what really makes a coach effective. Michael has built a reputation for his straight-talking style, and in this conversation he shares why honesty, directness, and cutting through excuses matter more than fancy tools or techniques.

We explore his own journey from growing up in Poland to coaching London's high achievers, what separates great coaches from the rest, and why being liked isn't always the point of coaching. Michael's approach is refreshing, challenging, and full of insights for anyone who wants to up their game as a coach or just get real about personal change.
