    Aug 28 2025

This 10-minute episode welcomes you to the 4th season of Unleashing Sister Saints by highlighting its' purpose, audience, and why I chose the title I did for this podcast. Also, I reflect on keeping our hearts soft and the impact of a hymn we sang in Church titled "I Stand All Amazed." It is a little bit of this and that, which I hope you appreciate!

  • 126. Healing After Sexual Abuse: A Latter-Day Saint Perspective
    Aug 21 2025

Welcome back to my next season of Unleashing Sister Saints. I'm starting out this season with a special episode titled "Healing After Sexual Abuse: A Latter-Day Saint Perspective," which is the title of a new book released by Deseret Book. I interviewed the two authors of this book for this episode: Shirley Washenko and Sage Williams. This episode has such profound insights we need to all understand, whether we are a survivor or not. And we all around people impacted whether we know it or not. Their insights on accountability and forgiveness are profound and not what you would think in many ways. Please listen in! These two are amazing. https://open.spotify.com/episode/26N9MEivRkUkgFeoA52m68?si=R9VlNmuzQ3OCpFwFL0n7BABook: Healing after Sexual Abuse - WILLIAMS, SAGE; WASHENKO, SHIRLEY | Deseret Book

  • 125. Unconscious Bias Training - Part 5: Strategies & Conclusion
    Jun 19 2025

This is the last in a 5-part series I've been doing on unconscious bias. These are made up of episodes 121, 122, 123, 124, and 125. I wanted to share some of the content of my in-person/Zoom three-hour unconscious bias workshop. In Episode 121, I provided an introduction, and in 122, I did most of the background section, in 123 I finished the background and then talked about unconscious bias purpose and description. In 124, I walked through two segments titled “Filters, Lenses, & Worldviews” and also “Types of Biases. Then in this last one I share strategies to help us do better. I also have resources below. I hope you have enjoyed this series! Enjoy the summer.

    Jun 11 2025

If you are just joining and haven’t listened to Episodes 121, 122, and 123, I’d recommend listening to those first, as I’m in the middle of sharing the content of my unconscious bias workshop. Today, in 124, I talk through “Filters, Lenses, & Worldviews” and “Types of Biases. I’ll just have one more episode in this series for episode 125, and then I’ll halt for the summer.

  • 123. Unconscious Bias Training - Part 3: Background, Purpose, & Description
    Jun 5 2025

If you are just joining and haven’t listened to Episodes 121 and 122, I’d recommend listening to those first, as I’m in the middle of sharing the content of my unconscious bias workshop. It is 3 hours when I do it in person or on Zoom, but I’m condensing it for this podcast. In Episode 121, I provided an introduction, and in 122, I did most of the background section. In this episode I finish that up and then talk about the purpose and description of unconscious bias. I'll have two more episodes left in this 5-part series. In person provides of course deeper development, this hopefully this helps some. Listen in!

  • 122. Unconscious Bias Training - Part 2: Background
    May 29 2025

This is the second in a series I'm doing that is part of a training I do on understanding unconscious biases. Episode 121 was the first in a series and this is Episode 122. This is information on understanding ourselves and our own biases and is 100% aligned with becoming a human being and becoming less judgmental. 121 provided an introduction and now 122 provides some background information, which includes some research studies. I find it all so interesting and helpful!

  • 121. Unconscious Bias Training - Part 1: Introduction
    May 22 2025

For a long while, I’ve been thinking that I should provide you as listeners some of my unconscious bias workshop in chunks because I think it is more important than ever before. I’ve taught this for years, and before that I worked on my deeper understanding of myself and actually how to teach it is a way that could be effective. I’m a better person for digging deep into how unconscious bias works in myself. I’m a better spouse, mother, grandmother, employee, neighbor, and church goer. I could make the name of this and just called it “Becoming a better human being” or “Becoming less judgmental,” as that is what it is.

When I do it in person or on Zoom, it is 3-hour training with all of the activities. This will be shorter and most likely less effective, but I still think it will provide insights for you. My expectation is that it will be at least 6 episodes for 15-20 minutes each, but we'll see. I hope you'll listen in!
