Jackie Mason is quite rightly a comedic legend. Mel Brooks is often quoted as saying 'Nobody makes me laugh harder'. Mason is funny. Period. In this recording he takes aim and hits everyone from Bill Clinton to John Major to TV to Shakespeare. Most famous for poking fun at his own culture and other Jews he nonetheless has a wonderful way of getting his point across with warmth, barbs and of course wit.

One of Shakespeare’s most popular plays is here performed by The Marlowe Society with Anthony Jacobs, Corin Redgrave, Paul Scofield and many other very fine actors. The story itself follows on from that of Shakespeare’s Richard II (also available in this series) and begins with Hotspur's battle at Homildon against the Douglas late in 1402 and ends with the defeat of the rebels at Shrewsbury in the middle of 1403.

This family tragedy, soaked in blood, deceit, and betrayal is at the pinnacle of Shakespeare's works and a true epic of English theatre. This performance by Sir Alec Guinness and fellow actors from London's Old vic Company is spellbinding. A rare treat for Shakespeare lovers and the performances of great actors.

A bitter round of Pictionary ends in a drink-to-the-vomit drinking game after Alice claims she can beat Jon at anything. The rug of Alice and Jon’s host gets in the firing line, rekindling rivalries from the past as well as the present. Jon declares he is not a loser and embarks on a mission to prove it by any means possible.

She escaped the guillotine and survived the horrors of the French revolution. She toured the towns of Britain for thirty-three hard years with her travelling wax cabinet, fighting off competition against a background of fire, riot, shipwreck and betrayal. She personified persistence, fortitude, dedication and self-belief.

This play is well known as one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies. The story revolves around Valentine and Proteus, the two gentlemen of Verona, who travel to Milan and learn about the world of courtship. Of course they are best friends but in between that friendship comes their love for the same woman. However true love must prevail and the journey Shakespeare takes us on is one of delight and reward. The play is performed by members of The Marlowe Society.
