A Patricia Fisher Mystery: Cruise Mysteries

Patricia Fisher is about to find out that 52 is the perfect age for an adventure! When her life is unexpectedly turned upside down, ginaholic housewife, Patricia, doesn’t react as most would. Instead, she empties the bank accounts and jumps on the first cruise ship available - it just happens to be the world’s largest and finest, the Aurelia.

Patricia just wants to spend more time in the company of Alistair Huntley, the offensively handsome captain of the Aurelia who seems only too happy to host her. But as the Aurelia sets sail from Miami, it does so with a dangerous new addition: There is a mob boss among the passengers, and he’s on the run - from more mobsters! 

It’s party time on board the Aurelia! On the LA to Hawaii leg, a Hollywood film crew are shooting scenes for a new action movie and Barbie has been given a bit-part role. It’s all great fun, and Patricia isn’t surprised when her cute, blonde friend attracts the attention of the handsome A-lister male lead. But when he's found murdered in the upper deck pool and the killer leaves a message that Barbie is next, it falls to Patricia to work out who the killer is. With Barbie, her trusted butler, and an odd-looking extra she befriended, Patricia will have plenty of help.

When a crewmember takes his own life but hands Patricia a cryptic note and a request to save Anna just before he jumps, she feels she has no choice but to honour his dying wish. Who is Anna though? The note leads her to investigate the odd-looking and mysterious couple staying in cabin 2124 and so begins an adventure that leads Patricia and her friends through the streets and underbelly of Tokyo, Japan. Why did he kill himself? And what are the couple in 2124 up to? 

When a chance encounter with a pickpocket leads to something more sinister, avid sleuth Patricia Fisher swings into action. The Aurelia is on its way to Thailand, but a mystery illness is spreading among crew and passengers. Is there a link between it and a world-famous immunologist on board? There is something very strange about his companions and their behaviour, but no one wants to listen to Patricia’s outlandish theories.

Now halfway through her globetrotting around-the-world trip, Patricia Fisher is feeling relaxed and happy on the arm of Captain Alistair Huntley. The peace is soon interrupted, though, when another calling card is found. They have been turning up for weeks, proof that someone has been breaking into the upper deck suites, but nothing has been stolen, and no crime appears to have been committed.

When Patricia returned the missing sapphire of Zangrabar, she had no idea the maharaja would consider himself eternally in her debt. Hardly surprising then that she has been invited to his son’s coronation as the new maharaja. There’s intrigue and mystery afoot, though. The Marahaja’s invite suggested he had a mystery for her to solve, but in true Patricia style, it’s nowhere near that simple.

As the Aurelia nears Athens, a new member of the crew is found dead in his cabin. Next to a gun and slumped over a suicide note, it appears tragic but unsuspicious. However, he’s the captain’s nephew Julian, onboard for only six days, and something about the suicide note makes Patricia’s nose twitch. With disobedient dog Anna, loyal butler Jermaine, and all her friends in support, your favorite amateur sleuth soon uncovers a web of lies and deceit in the bursary. 

When she finds a wounded member of British Intelligence in her bedroom, Patricia really isn’t that surprised. I mean, it happens all the time, doesn’t it? However, she is surprised, and really not delighted, to hear that he has a secret task for her. Find his contact, hand over a harmless looking data storage device that just happens to have the details of a superweapon on it, and save the world from certain disaster. Her country needs her. Well, that’s just perfect. 

Fifty-three-year-old Patricia Fisher is a trouble magnet like no other, a sad fact she has come to accept during her three-month around the world cruise. Wherever she goes, bodies just appear, or someone gets kidnapped, or she accidentally uncovers a plot to overthrow a government. Life certainly isn’t dull for Patricia. But when she arrives home in England, she plans to start a new chapter of her life.
