Ascendancy

Michael Baker is a 35-year-old, natural-born American citizen from Texas, a successful entrepreneur, and amateur astronomer. The scientific community mocks him when he publishes the time and coordinates where a supernova will occur. When it occurs, people start wondering who Michael is. The day after his third supernova prediction stunningly comes true, Michael abruptly takes over every television and radio in the world and announces that he is the Ambassador to Earth from the Intergalactic Confederation of Planets.

It has been five years since the Revelation, and Earth is now a member of the Intergalactic Confederation of Planets. Peace has broken out. Climate change has been reversed. Life expectancy has increased. Poverty has just about been wiped out. The Institute is up and running at the Embassy. Students from around the world have transferred, researchers from major universities are doing sabbaticals, and Confederation technology is being adapted for human use.

Mysterious emanations originating in the Intergalactic void... Suspicious deaths near the galactic rim… An Armada recalled… Another goes missing… While the Confederations Central Council and High Command face the consequences of the inspector's treachery, Michael and his team continue to raise Earth's profile among its neighbors. A trade deal is started. Numerous new Transluminide claims are filed. The Space Force fleet grows.

With the Confederation unable to project military power into the sector, neighboring allies press the Earth Alliance for protection and transportation services. Michael proposes a bold new initiative to secure the sector and promote its prosperity. Eugene and Kelly discover the secret to destroying the Enemy once and for all. And a new young species takes its first steps into interstellar space. Meanwhile, Confederation hardliners do everything in their power to stop Michael and the Earth Alliance from succeeding.

It's been a year since the Enemy home world was destroyed. There have been no additional Enemy sightings, but the 3F Defensive Alliance continues to grow. The trade between worlds has sparked prosperity throughout the sector. But trouble brews in Andromeda. The Central Council holds a secret meeting, condemning Earth for continuing to hold the spy Ju-Ne. They authorize an armada to travel to Earth to collect the prisoner—by force if necessary.
