Nothing says welcome home like an irresistibly hot cowboy inviting himself into your shower. I should have kicked him out the second he barged in. He's my brother's best friend, and we're living on a ranch in the same bunkhouse for the next three weeks. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

I fell for that dimpled smirk, cowboy hat, and magnetic charm. Too bad he saw me as nothing more than a pawn in his scheme. That alone should have stopped me from asking him to be my fake boyfriend a few weeks later. In my defense, I was out of options after a major screw-up that almost cost me my job. My lack of self-preservation skills didn't do much to deter me from the idea either. I may be a walking disaster. But everyone in Westridge knows Warren as the town golden boy who can do no wrong, making him the perfect candidate to repair my reputation and help me avoid getting fired.

I meant to protect my heart. Instead, I'm knee-deep in self-inflicted torture. Tripp is a hazard in boots, while I'm a recovering romantiholic. I could've stomached the side effects of friend-zoning ourselves—including a brutal mess of longing stares and simmering jealousy. But then he offered to solve a problem of mine and teach me a few things—sans clothing. Strictly platonic. Purely educational.
