When Carly Fullerton’s doctor tells her she must take some time away from her business to rest and regain her health, the only place she can afford to go to is a remote cabin in Idaho that she owns with her two half-sisters. The cabin is supposedly haunted, but she has no belief in ghosts. She’s paid no attention to the cabin before this and doesn’t know her sister Julia has rented it out.

Gunnar McDermott dreamed of being a helicopter pilot doing search-and-rescue in the roadless Idaho mountains until a battle in Afghanistan shattered those dreams. Now they meet again, as two completely different people.

Julia Perrin runs a bed and breakfast that tends to have a strange clientele - people hoping to find true love. She's the eldest of three sisters who have inherited the cabin along with its ghosts - ghosts who are rumored to be "matchmakers". But then, a handsome French wildlife biologist takes a room at the cabin. He has no interest in them as ghosts - what nonsense - or in their nonsensical matchmaking. He's interested in their background, and wonders if it doesn't intersect with his own family's mysterious history.
