Alternate War

This is the story of two teenage British boys in a Britain occupied by the Germans, which is what might have happened if the Nazis had successfully carried out their plans to invade Britain under Operation Sea Lion in the 1940s. Alan Mitchell and Sam Roberts study at St. John's Academy in the fictional Cambridgeshire market town of Hereward. Their Home Guard unit is defeated and the Schutzstaffel (S.S.) massacres the prisoners but the boys escape and return to German occupied Hereward.

As the Martian force tries to consolidate their position in the US, President Theodore Roosevelt gathers the best scientific minds and industry leaders to meet the Martian challenges. Staking everything on a roll of the dice, a joint army-navy force are in the midst of developing a landship to win the war. The big question is if they can complete it in time.

The Modern Day. The Confederate States of America stretches from Richmond to Los Angeles, locked in perennial struggle with its Cold War rival, the United States. Slavery is legal. Those who endure it fight in fierce pursuit of liberty. As these dueling nations face off, two enslaved Americans—Atticus and Clara Brooke—emerge as courageous leaders at Rosewood Manor, a sweeping plantation in the foothills of Virginia.

Time is running out for planet Earth. Marseria, the insidious Martian plague, has been infecting our planet for over twenty years and has resisted every human effort to eradicate it. With all life on Earth facing extinction, the only solution left is to directly access a specific piece of Martian technology. But, according to diaries left behind by Ogilvy the astronomer, the Martians have hidden it at the lake on the moon.

March-April 1915. The German High Sea Fleet sorties out of its harbors in Brest and St-Nazaire to challenge the Royal Navy's Grand Fleet once more, triggering a powerful naval battle. In retirement as a secret agent since a grisly episode in North Africa, Gallatin is parachuted into occupied France, on a mission which will take him to the festering heart of the Third Reich on the scent of doomsday.

Sam, Alan, Alice and Aurora continue to fight against the German forces occupying England. The guerrillas sabotage SS plans to build a concentration camp and also prepare for L-Day: the Allied liberation of the Occupied South. The partisans take steps to deal with a traitor amongst their ranks.

Alan, Sam, Alice and Aurora continue to attack German forces who are taking part in Operation Thor: the invasion of Scotland. The Partisans discover that the Fascist Government has begun a program to exterminate all disabled orphan children and that an SS Death Squad is coming to Britain with a secret list of targets to eliminate. The Resistance plan—to sabotage Operation Sea lion anniversary celebrations.

The year is 1939. The World rocks with the news of the signing of the Germano-Soviet pact. A dark veil soon falls on Europe as Poland is invaded and destroyed by the overwhelming forces of the Wehrmacht and the Red Army. France and the United Kingdom can only sit by and watch the two military juggernauts obliterate the Polish state. No one believes the two totalitarian regimes can agree in the long term as their ideologies completely contradict each other. Russia wants influence in the Balkans, has eyes on Finland, and wants an opening to the Mediterranean.

With the fall and sack of Rome, the barbarian hordes of the east claimed the lands of the Western Empire and brought forth an age of tyranny. Against this darkness, two heroes will rise. They come from worlds apart. Bound together by magic and cursed by fate. Following the initial Martian invasion of England, President Theodore Roosevelt tries to prepare the United States for the potential of another Martian incursion. As the possibility of a stronger invasion is increasingly clear, the US government tries to mobilize nations to share information and technology to defend humanity. Newly minted ordinance officer Andrew Comstock has been placed in charge of developing new technology that has to be tested on the fly in a race against time if humanity is to survive.
