The outbreak began in February. Nations went to war. Governments collapsed. Billions died in the chaos and anarchy that followed. Billions more were infected. They died. They came back. It is now October. Out of the tens of millions who lived in southern England, only 90 people remain. They sought sanctuary behind the ancient walls of the Tower of London, but it was only a temporary refuge. There is no more food to be scavenged from the ruins of the old world. Their water supply is polluted.

The end of the world is only the beginning as an odd band of survivors pull together to construct a modern-day castle amid the burning ruins of suburbia lost. As undead hordes and strange otherworldly monsters ravage what's left of civilization, things begin to go from worse to weird as each survivor's dark past unfolds, revealing that reality might be more than anyone ever thought, and that an ancient force from the outer dark has finally arrived to conquer.

A mysterious virus emerges after a meteor lands near a remote village in Peru. Authorities brought in to investigate discover the horrific virus not only kills, but it reanimates its victims, turning them into the walking dead. In spite of the government believing they have contained the outbreak, samples of the contagion are brought to the United States via infected military and other victims. The virus breaks boundaries and the infection spreads initiating the ground invasion of the War against the Undead.

Outbreak - Day 16: With an estimated 99 percent of the United States' population having already succumbed to the Omega Virus and been reanimated to form roving hordes of flesh-eating monsters, two groups of survivors struggle against long odds to survive the zombie apocalypse.

Eight years ago, the December Plague swept through the human population of Earth. After the discovery of a dormant zombie virus in preserved Antarctic dinosaur specimens, billionaire visionary and megalomaniac William DeKirk proceeds with his plan to unleash a zombie-dinosaur army upon the world, starting with Washington, DC. The US military struggles to prevent the contagion's spread and to defend against the onslaught of prehistoric monstrosities as all-out war breaks out between the living and the dead. However, DeKirk has even farther-reaching plans.

Winter is coming... As survivors around the world struggle to get their feet under them in a world overrun by the walking dead, a new problem rears its head. As unstoppable as any horde of zombies, the seasons march on, heedless of the fragility of the human race. The first winter is approaching.

Dave finds an unconscious Howie and carries him into the residential streets for safety. The others have been separated and are searching for each other. Nick falls asleep and misses the pick up.

We meet Lilly and Billy, a brother and sister who are led by their ineffectual father into a series of devastating situations which results in Billy being taken by two men and Lilly witnessing the murder of her father. Lilly tracks her brother and meets up with Nick who, not being able to find his group, agrees to help her.

The people of the Estes Valley have found their peace destroyed as they are attacked by the single greatest army left in the world. Not only do they have to contend with an army of men equipped with the latest hi-tech military gear, they also have to battle a horde of undead half a million strong. But, perhaps worse than all of this, they have to deal with a seven year old girl - Jillybean. Cruelly coerced into helping her enemies, Jillybean bends her mind to the destruction of the valley, the death of kings, and the loss of her own soul.

Winter has arrived, the walking dead are hungry, and Ginny and Lee's small group of survivors is making its way towards New York. Other survivors, shaking off the daze of catastrophe, are moving as well. In a wasteland of snow and failing power, of course the zombies are dangerous...but it's the other people you really have to watch out for.

Allegiance picks up two days after A Pound of Flesh left off. Outbreak - Day 15.
