Soon after banker Willard Carmichael and his young bride arrive in Pickax, a string of petty burglaries follow. Sarah and Elvis can always be found at a charming secondhand shop in the village of North Harbor, Maine. There's a damsel in distress and accusations of attempted murder flying around, but it's not in the comfortable confines of the English countryside; it's in the very distant city of Damascus.
