When a person is exposed to traumatic or negative events where they feel little or no control in the outcome, the anxiety can turn into post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). If you have enough recurring events in your life that are traumatic, you may even be diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD).

If you have experienced any form of multiple trauma in the past, you might be experiencing something more than just your run-of-the-mill anxiety or depression.
