"Ej blot til pynt" er første del af den danske modeskaber Erik Mortensens erindringer. Bogen er inddelt i tre dele og går helt tilbage til Mortensens barndom og fortæller i første del om hans opvækst i København. Anden del går tæt på hans læretid i København, før han i tredje del fortæller om rejsen til Paris og hans eventyr i den store modeverden uden for de trygge rammer i København.
