My mother had the right to choose, and she chose me. I wonder if life is meant to be a cycle of living to survive, or is it merely about surviving to live? I am Darius Allen, and although I don't know for sure if abortion is right or wrong, I do believe in free will. In these modern times, we look around and witness classic examples regarding abortion that result in the cause and effect we all experience. We feel a sense of deep knowing and connection, whether by choice, politics, reason, religion, or whatever institution.

Violation of biological command has been the failure of social man. Vertebrates though we may be, we have ignored the law of equal opportunity since civilization's earliest hours. Sexually reproducing beings though we are, we pretend today that the law of inequality does not exist. And enlightened though we may be, while we pursue the unattainable we make impossible the realizable.

We humans have an extraordinary capacity for compassion—much of it in response to the atrocities we inflict on the planet, its animals, and each other. The popular explanation for this paradox is that we evolved as carnivorous “killer apes,” who gradually curbed our lust for violence (with frequent exceptions) by implementing humane social norms.
