Still struggling from the effects of a narcissistic or psychopathically abusive relationship? Narcissistic Victim Syndrome is not officially recognised, nor is it widely even known. Covert Narcissists dangle their vulnerability in front of you as bait, just waiting for your good nurturing mothering/fathering instincts to kick in and rescue the poor little lost child they are presenting to you. But beneath the mask of a shy, vulnerable and “good person” something far more sinister lurks.

The cryptic nature of psychological abuse involves repetitious mind games played by one individual or a group of people. Psychological abuse leaves no bruises. There are no broken bones. There are no holes in the walls. The bruises, brokenness, and holes are held tightly within the target of the abuse.

Story
Although clinical research has been conducted on narcissism as a disorder, less is known about its effects on victims who are in toxic relationships with partners with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Individuals with this disorder engage in chronic devaluation and manipulation of their partners, a psychological and emotional phenomenon known as "narcissistic abuse". Unfortunately, the full extent of what narcissistic abuse entails is not taught in any psychology class or diagnostic manual.

Pathological mind games. Covert and overt put-downs. Triangulation. Gaslighting. Projection. These are the manipulative tactics survivors of malignant narcissists are unfortunately all too familiar with. As victims of silent crimes where the perpetrators are rarely held accountable, survivors of narcissistic abuse have lived in a war zone of epic proportions, enduring an abuse cycle of love-bombing and devaluation - psychological violence on steroids.

This book is about healing yourself rather than the main focus being on the narcissist and their behaviour. Constant research on narcissism only takes away time that could be used for implementing self-care patterns for your own recovery. Do you want to get past all the painful feelings such as shock, confusion, fear of the future, anger, loneliness, abandonment, and shame? If so, you have come to right place.

Publisher's Summary
Learn the manipulator's game, so they can't play it with you.
Identifying covert emotional manipulation is tricky. You sense something is wrong, but you can't quite put your finger on the problem. This powerful book will reveal to you if manipulation is at play in your relationships. It will open your eyes.
You will learn 30 tactics manipulators use to get what they want. You will also learn to spot the warning signs within yourself that expose covert manipulation is taking place, even if you can't identify the specific tactics being used.
This book is geared toward romantic relationships, including those involving a pathological partner. Even so, many of the manipulation tactics are the same as those used by family members, coworkers, friends and others.
Covert emotional manipulation tactics are underhanded methods of control. Emotional manipulation methodically wears down your self-worth and damages your trust in your own perceptions. It can make you unwittingly compromise your personal boundaries and lose your self-respect and even lead to a warped concept of yourself and of reality. With your defenses weakened or completely disarmed in this manner, you are left even more vulnerable to further manipulation and psychological harm.
Empower yourself and get your life back!

This book can change your life!
After more than a year of psychotherapy I still didn't know why I felt so insecure with my boyfriend of four years. It seemed like I was sabotaging the relationship, and I couldn't stop no matter how hard I tried. I was having emotional meltdowns I couldn't explain and I felt like I couldn't trust him. My therapist said I had an insecure attachment style but that didn't feel right because I'd never been that way before. I began searching for an answer that made sense and I stumbled upon this book, thank God, because the truth of the matter was revealed: my boyfriend was using just about every manipulation tactic in this book on me. I felt immediate relief and a sense of peace because I learned I wasn't crazy---my emotions were being manipulated. Now I'm free, and I can't thank the author enough! If you're feeling perplexed by the problems in your relationship, get this book. It can change your life.

Very direct and to the point. Enlightening! This book really needs to be expanded with more examples of manipulation (such as the detailed list of invalidating statements) along with ways to counteract each manipulation tactic.

Very Useful if You Had Controlling Parents Me
I bought this book to see why I kept ending up in one-sided relationships. I had a lot of healing to do which started with Co-Dependent No More and continued to this book where I learned a person who habitually lies is a manipulator. A person who invalidates how you feel when they are constantly saying hurtful things may have a personality disorder and is a manipulator.
Putting you down is never for your good. My dad is this way. So, by default I invalidated my own feelings in relationships. No more. Get rid of the liars in your life, and build your self-care and self-love routines so you can tell them you don't want or need them around.

Too short!
People who are really stuck in bad relationships are going to need a little more information and examples to help them break free. A powerful story or set of examples would much more effective. Stories get remembered. This book is unfortunately more like a college lecture, summarizing basic ideas.
