About this listen
Follow an unfortunate soul who has been thrown into a fantasy world with nothing. He is quickly railroaded into joining the Legion and has to develop under harsh conditions while slowly discovering his potential power.
This story has light LitRPG elements with a stat and magic advancement system. The MC is not overpowered and experiences the pain of growth as he tries to find a place in the strange new world while staying alive. Neither are coming easy to him as his Legion Company is constantly in harm's way.

A few minutes ago, Meghan Moretti's biggest concern was getting the kids' athletic clothes washed in time for practice this evening. Now, it seems that Earth has been forced into participating in some high-stakes intergalactic reality television. All electrical wiring has been slagged, and most combustibles neutralized. Some kind of evil space rodents are appearing on the front lawn, too.

One day, six towers appear on Earth. Each one stands hundreds of stories tall, and are invulnerable to all attacks. At the base of each tower is a portal, welcoming in all who dare enter it. All sorts of magical monsters can be found inside the towers. Even treasure, magic and superhuman strength can be acquired. The problem is that the towers aren't a friendly place. Even worse, the towers sometimes release waves of monsters to attack Earth. In the year 2083, there are only a hundred survivors. In one last attempt, they challenge the final floor without regard for their lives.

Andy wanted a quiet life—just his trailer, the Sonoran desert, and a job that didn’t ask much of him. Instead, he got a front-row seat to Tucson’s collapse. Magic rewrote the rules. Monsters stalked the streets. People mutated—or died. He didn’t plan to be a hero. But when the screaming started, Andy grabbed a broken broomstick and did what he does best: survive. Now he’s got more than his own skin to worry about—kids looking to him for protection, neighbors turning to him for leadership, and a trailer park slowly transforming into a fortress. The System’s leveling him up—but not fast enough.

Driven by a desire to honor Gramps and a sense of adventure, Syl chose the latter... only to awaken as a lowly slime. A farmed slime. The life of a farmed slime was cruel. Fast paced
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
I feel like the story would have been just as good or better without Isekai at all, since it's barely touched upon after the fact.
Narrator isn't great. He has a lot of weird inflections and puts emphasis on weird words, that ends up making the narration sound very robotic and unnatural. Voices for certain characters also seemingly changes at times, making it a bit jarring.
Overall it's a solid story, and a definite recommendation so long as you aren't overly bothered by middling narration.
