Story
May 20, 2019: Homicide detective Mallory is in Edinburgh to be with her dying grandmother. While out on a jog one evening, Mallory hears a woman in distress. She’s drawn to an alley, where she is attacked and loses consciousness. May 20, 1869: Housemaid Catriona Thomson had been enjoying a half-day off, only to be discovered that night in a lane, where she’d been strangled and left for dead. When Mallory wakes up in Catriona's body in 1869, she must put aside her shock and adjust quickly to the reality.

Story
Thorne Manor has always been haunted...and it has always haunted Bronwyn Dale. As a young girl, Bronwyn could pass through a time slip in her great-aunt's house, where she visited William Thorne, a boy her own age, born two centuries earlier. After a family tragedy, the house was shuttered and Bronwyn was convinced that William existed only in her imagination. Now, 20 years later Bronwyn inherits Thorne Manor. And when she returns, William is waiting.

Story
From the author of the acclaimed Women of the Otherworld series comes an exciting new heroine whose most secret identity is both lucrative and lethal. Regulars at Nadia' s nature lodge don' t ask what she does in the off season. And that's a good thing. If she told them, she' d have to kill them. She's a hit woman for a Mafia family. Tough and self-sufficient, Nadia doesn't owe anyone any explanations. But that doesn't mean she always works alone. One of her contacts has recruited her in the hunt for a ruthlessly efficient serial killer cutting a swath of terror across the country.

Story
The North Yorkshire moors are always a magical place, but they’re particularly enchanting at the holidays…especially if one gets to travel back in time to a Victorian Christmas. For Bronwyn Dale, it is the stuff of dreams. Fancy-dress balls, quirky small-town traditions, even that classic one-horse open sleigh, complete with jingle bells. There’s just the tiny problem of the Butterfly Effect. How does a time-traveler make a difference without disrupting the future forever?

Publisher's Summary
In A Stranger in Town, the next riveting thriller from number one New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong, the paranoia increases - along with the stakes - as the town of Rockton tries to solve the latest mystery at their door.
Detective Casey Duncan has noticed fewer and fewer residents coming in to the hidden town of Rockton, and no extensions being granted. Her boyfriend, Sheriff Eric Dalton, presumes it’s the natural flux of things, but Casey’s not so sure. It seems like something bigger is happening in the small town they call home.
When an injured hiker stumbles from the woods, someone who seems to have come to the Yukon for a wilderness vacation but instead is now fighting for her life, it’s all hands on deck. What - or who - attacked this woman, and why?
With the woman unconscious, and no leads, Casey and Eric don’t know where the threat is coming from. Plus, the residents of their deeply secretive town are uneasy with this stranger in their midst. Everyone in Rockton wants this mystery solved - and fast.

Learn to Pronounce the Provinces
I am enjoying the books. But I am very disappointed that a book written by a Canadian author has a narrator that is incapable of pronouncing Newfoundland. It rhymes with understand. It is insulting and upsetting (especially when the word is used so frequently) to hear it so badly mangled time and time again.

I love this series so much - I fear the day when it all comes to an end. All I want is to visit the Yukon now for a wilderness adventure. The narration is incredible and the writing, well I have been reading Kelley Armstrong since I was 11 years old and I’m now 24 so I think that says a lot about how much I admire and continue to love her work.

Really entertaining series!
Stranger in Town
Is the sixth book in the Casey Duncan series. I’m sure it could be enjoyable as a standalone however I would suggest listening to the series in order for background. There is so much character history that would be missed that the reader wouldn’t get many of the details referenced. This series takes a little different perspective of the cop in a small town mystery.
In this book some old questions involving the “Hostiles” are solved. Where they originated and how they got to be the way they are. It all begins with the murder of a group of tourists from Denmark.
And it looks like Casey and Dalton may be starting their own town. The council hasn’t been sending any new people for a while. The question is does the council plan to shut this town down and begin anew in a new location with all new people. Casey and Dalton don’t plan to wait to find out.
Therese Plummer does a great job narrating.

We get a few answers this time around
Many of you know I'm mainly read Indie authors these days. But there are still a few mainstream ones that I purchase without a second thought and without reading any of the synopses. Well Kelly Armstrong is one of them.
There are also books I prefer the audio to the actual because the narrator does such an amount job bring the book to life for me.
The Casey Duncan Series is that 100% Kelly's writing never dispoints and Therese narrating never let's me down.
In Rockton nothing is as it seems, and no one is who they seem. Besides the murder there is also underlying mysteries going on. In this installment we get many answers to the ongoing questions that have plagued us and teased us throughout the series.
I give both the story and narrating 5 stars and will wait in anticipation for the next mystery of Rockton.

Excellent Installment of Rockton!
This was, yet again, another excellent novel in the Rockton series. it was full of adventure, intrigue, and unexpected laughs.
I'd recommend listening to the series in order, even though the author recaps earlier events, so you'll have the depth of characters and storylines.
Thèrése Plummer is an excellent narrator; I found this series by enjoying her narration of a different series. Her voice inflections and character depictions led me looking for other stories she's narrated. Thanks Thèrése! Thanks Kelley Armstrong for an excellent series, as I can't wait to listen to "The Deepest of Secrets" next!
