Publisher's Summary

In Thorne Manor there is one locked door. Behind it lies a portal to the 21st century, and nothing is going to stop Miranda Hastings from stepping through. After all, she is a Victorian writer of risqué pirate adventures—traveling to the future would be the greatest adventure of them all.

When Miranda goes through, though, she lands in Georgian England...and in the path of Nicolas Dupuis, a privateer accused of piracy. Sheltered by locals, Nico is repaying their kindness by being their “pirate Robin Hood”, stealing from a corrupt lord and fencing smuggled goods on the village’s behalf.

Miranda embraces Nico’s cause, only to discover there’s more to it than he realizes. Miranda has the second sight, and there are ghosts at play here. The recently deceased former lord is desperate to stop his son from destroying his beloved village. Then there’s the ghost of Nico’s cabin boy, whom he thought safe in a neighboring city. Miranda and Nico must solve the mystery of the boy’s death while keeping one step ahead of the hangman.

It may not be the escapade Miranda imagined, but it is about to be the adventure of a lifetime.

The story was okay but the!
performance was so poor!
I struggled at times to just continue listening to her voices. I pray she does not do anymore reading for
Kelley Armstrong

Fun and enjoyable but…

The reading is not what I’ve come to expect in a Kelley Armstrong book. The accent and dialect work are not up to par at all. The overall reading seems amateur

Enjoyable listening

A beautiful tale of times passed. A different adventure moves from one century to another giving insight to each time period. The Heroine brings a daring soul through time and into amazing adventures, inthralled in daring and exciting moments. A must read book.

After breezing through the first two books and the first novella, this one was tough to get through. The narrators male voice is so so bad it's distractinf

Love this author. But not this book!

I love this author. I have read most of her books. I am not sure what happened here. I read the other two books in the series, and I enjoyed them very much. I was looking forward to this one. however, I was terribly disappointed. I could not give this book a lower rating because of the author. I enjoy her work too much.

Waste

This book was horrible. I usually love Kelley's novels. The first 2 in this series were wonderful. This one was almost impossible to finish. Too much sex and a dull storyline.

not as good as the others

I personally.ly found this one less exciting than the 1st 2 in this series. the dialog felt a little long and clunky at times and the characters a little less real, like they were both a little too perfect? It did pick up at the end and I am looking forward to more books in the series. They are a fun take on the historical/time travel romance trope.
