Story
A war is brewing in the Empire. Not the War in the East - that is a war everyone already knows about, the war that some wanted to end so badly that they murdered an Emperor to stop it. No, this is a different war. A war between the Shadowlands and the mortal world, a war between light and darkness. A war the Brotherhood of Culo has warned about for generations. But no one wanted to listen. And as war brews, an Empress in exile struggles to regain her crown, and the warrior sworn to protect that Empress fights to make it back to her.

Story
Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great, too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite.

Story
For solitary novelist Jorie Price, true love seems as fictional as the shape-shifting creatures she writes about in her paranormal romances. Griffin Westmore doesn't believe in love, either, but she's one of those not-so-fictional shape-shifters who secretly live among humans. When Jorie's writing gets uncomfortably close to the truth, Griffin is sent to investigate and, if necessary, kill the author to protect the secrets of her kind. But when Griffin unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Jorie, her world is turned upside down.

Brilliant!
Wow! Absolutely love this audiobook! This has probably made it into my top ten. The length didn’t worry me but I wasn’t 100% sure about the whole fantasy thing. That being said, it was narrated by Abby Craden so I took a chance on it. I’ve never read a les-fantasy that was done particularly well. After the first chapter however, I was hooked! I read lesbian romance for the romance and this one didn’t disappoint. Very swoon-worthy and great chemistry between the two MCs! But besides that, there was also a great amount of action and adventure. It was also quite funny in parts and the dialogue is great. I have to disagree with the other review here about the narrator. Abby Craden is brilliant and absolutely my favorite narrator! It’s really difficult for me to listen to an audiobook when she’s not narrating. I literally search les-audiobooks almost exclusively by searching Abby Craden. So, Emily Noon, please, please, please continue to use Abby Craden for all your audiobooks!!

Love the story :) !!! Not the Narrator :(
I loved the book! I also read the physical book and was extremely excited about the audiobook. But I was disappointed when I found out that Abby Craden has narrated this! I am not a fan of Abby craden; her boring and heavy (male) voice is my mood killer! I would have enjoyed the audiobook if the narrator was Angela Dawe or Brenda Scott Wlazlo!! Anyway, I still bought the book because I loved this book so much!!! Aurora's Angel is flat out awesome. A fantasy novel, lesbian characters, adventure, shifters, sex. Yes!!! *** Note: Dear Emily Noon, please use a different narrator for your future books! ***

I love this book! So exciting and action packed you can never put it down once you started. Characters are so fleshed out, so likeable you can't help but root for them. This book is long but you'll wish it was longer. And Abby Craden, the narrator has outdone herself. She is perfect, the emotions and extra oomp in her story telling is definitely an experience.

A new favorite
This is my first time reading this author as well as my first time finding a well written lesbian shifter/fantasy book. I had no idea what to expect going into this but I was not disappointed. The characters are well developed, the storyline is detailed and easy to follow, their world is well crafted and subtly lets you know the time period, there is a superb amount of natural dialogue...overall, this is easily one of my favorite books. I’d even put it in my top five, which is a feat considering the amount of books I’ve read and listened to. Emily Noon will be added to the list of authors I seek out. I loved everything about this book and would give an arm for an epilogue. Two arms and a leg for a sequel. Fantastic work and a beautiful performance by Abby Craden, as always.

Fun and well performed but not a masterpiece
I loved the personality and the reader was amazing and managed to do a great job giving a lot of energy and personality to the characters. It is overall a very simple savior to lovers story that follows the tropes to a T so dont come here looking for a unique and innovative experience but it is a fun sexy romp you'll probably enjoy a lot if you don't think too hard

Let's be real. That was Wow.
Alright, so this was one hell of ride. I mean that in the best way seeing as how this audiobook had me jumping around in constant shift between tension and elation for the last several hours as I listened through the epic conclusion. Don't be fooled by the beginning. At first I was struck with the first impressions of the characters. When it began, it seemed that the characters were about to follow cliched one dimensional archetypes from the easily predicted dialogue and behavior. There seemed to be a lot of unecessary explanation in the dialogue that made it seem a bit forced to explain drives and motivations of the characters right off the get go instead of revealing them more slowly through actions and such. I had high hopes going in so I was somewhat dismayed when these two characters started off somewhat lackluster, but despite the first impressions that led me to believe that I was about to listen to something that was awfully predictable, the characters got out of the beginning events and their unique colors showed. These two were beautiful written and developed, despite that some things remained a bit predictable, it was kept interesting by the background and the causes behind the motives that were consistently being revealed throughout the entire book. This book had me randomly shouting 'wHAT?!' at intervals until almost the very end, so don't worry it will ramp back up after it seems as if things are winding down towards the late middle. It was a great listen, and I will forever wonder how in the HELL Abby Craden can do so many unique voices for so many different characters. At times I would sit and almost start laughing as I honed in on the fact that the dramatic shift of the voices was still all the same woman. Impresses the hell out of me every time. tldr: I've never heard Abby Craden read a book that wasn't a hit, so if anything I think you can trust that.
