Keenan is the mistake Khloe knows she shouldn't make. As an incubus, he's got an inside track into everything that makes her tick, and even though she's immune to his supernatural (and frankly unfair) sex appeal, that doesn't stop her body - and her demon - craving him. If it were any other male she'd have worked it out of her system ages ago and moved on, but this time she's scared that if she ever gives in, she won't escape unscathed.

Publisher's Summary
Defeat the enemy. Win the boy. Live happily ever after. But life "ever after" isn't as easy as it used to be.
Harper's gone from being a member of a small demon lair to co-Prime of one of the most powerful lairs in the US, with a mate who, though hot as hell, is just a mite overprotective - I mean, you get kidnapped by dark practitioners just once....
Then one of Knox's demons goes rogue and in his madness decides Knox Thorne must die. Harper's worried. Knox isn't - at least until he discovers his mate's willingness to get between him and danger. Now Knox has a new priority: keep Harper safe...no matter what it takes.
But Harper begins to suspect there's more danger than one rogue demon. It seems the combined strength of Harper and Knox has upset the balance of power in the demon world, and there are those who are determined to right that wrong. Because when you move up the food chain, sometimes the other predators just want to take a bigger bite.
Contains mature themes.

Good story.. Bad narration
I'm really enjoying the story but the narration is making it painful. I would rather her use her real voice for every character than using the whiny childish voices she uses for everyone. I'm determined to finish the series but I won't start another one that is narrated by her. I'm hoping her voices get better farther into the series. Fingers crossed

It's an ok series, so farm
I've gotten used to the characters and their demon trraits. It's entertaining but, Not near as good as The Phoenix and Mercury Packs.
One big reason, I believe, that I don't like this series as much as the author's last is the narration. I heard this narrator do other books and I thought she did fine, however, the voices of these characters are very Whiney. Along with being whiney, the voice of the Hero is way too feminine. I would think that a demon created in the depths of hell would have a deep, hoarse masculine voice. I rarely make negative remarks about a narrator's work because I admire their ability. Narrating takes a special talent that I do not have but, unfortunately, Cat missed the mark with her voice selection, in this series. Adding a male narrator for dual narration would be a great addition, in my humble opinion.

Bummer.
I was looking forward to the next book in the series. Unfortunately, I just can’t listen to the narrator any more. Please redo the narration!!! I can’t review the story since I barely began listening. If you can stand the narrator then it’s probably worth a try if you’ve got the romance package.

Not as good as the first.
It had been a long while between book 1 and book 2 (that I just finished), so maybe my memory softened over time. I enjoy most of Suzanne Wright's stuff, even though her series can become a bit formulaic. When you have a series in the double digits, you really have to work harder to keep the stories from sounding like a madlib format where you just fill in the blanks with different names, nouns and verbs from book to book. While Ms. Wright struggles with that, her books are still fairly entertaining and she has managed to very subtly cross over the series making an even bigger world than any one series describes. When I started listening to this book, I remembered exactly why I didn't listen to it right away after the first. Worst thing: narration. Which confuses me because Cat Doucette doesn't have a bad voice. When she's just doing the basic narration, she sounds great. Her voices for the main character (Harper) and all of Harper's female friends, sound like spoiled, snotty, caddy, little brats. Actually screechy. It's really hard to listen to. Like the mean spoiled girl from junior high stereotype. The voices make it really hard not to want to punch these women. Next terrible thing: the writing of all the women. As awful as the voices are, they match the characters. Most of the book is the aforementioned girls (I'm reluctant to call them women) having very caddy, petty, nasty exchanges with women that are jealous of Harper for landing Knox. While their behavior is ridiculous, their point isn't totally unfounded. The women in this series have very few redeeming qualities, so I think I"m going to have to forego the rest.

Not as good as the first
I'm not a big fan of the Heroine in this one. 1) Talk about a food snob, actually anything fancy snob. food is food and clothing is clothing. It's just soooooo annoying. 2) She makes a promise to call her man when she's in trouble. she is in trouble but doesn't call him to protect him. seems fine right. . .except in the previous book we find out he Is the strongest demon on earth. Have faith in your man and keep your promise. Who ends up having to apologize? you guessed it he does.

High school drama with hot sex
This is a big disappointment. In the first book we always give writers a pass. It has an interesting premise. The second we expect circumstances to add a depth and breadth to the characters. This one misses the mark. It reads like a teen-age love story featuring immatures arguments and misunderstandings and hot sex.
The relationship between Harper, our heroin and Knox, our hero, centers around the need to keep each other save for the sanity of their demons. Much of their dialogue centers around them making promises to each other to notify the other IMMEDIATELY, not after dinner, if they, were in danger that day. It does not matter if the threat was not in their vicinity. We are given various combination of those scenarios, which end with hurt feelings and mad demons and hot sex.
What started as someone plotting against our couple, has become an organization, the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, that wishes to destroy Knox, by coming at Harper. That is why much of the dialogue is…“I just want to protect you”, “My demon would destroy the world without you”, hot sex, ex-girlfriends pissing off Harper, Harper cussing them out, Joelean, Harper’s grandmother, threatening Knox, and Harper and Knox flaunting the life of the super-rich. The culmination of the story is a big shindig, oh sorry celebration, which is the announcement of Harper being a co-prime.
But from the start of the story to the shindig is 6 weeks. That is a lot of time with their high school relationship antics, rouge demons escaping, hot sex, and shopping. There is one big demonstration of their magically gifts. There is an interesting twist but it follows a predictable pattern. There is always a situation when a protagonist, who has an average magically ability, has a boost in that power. That part of the story was pretty good.
The most amusing part is when the Wallace family does their imp thing.
I will not continue with the series. There are too many urban-fantasy paranormals novels that actually put in time for character/story development. Hot sex is okay, but at least give me a story.

Narration is beyond awful
Why why why? Why is the narrator making the choice to make the female voice so unbelievably annoying and whiny? Every once in a while, she makes it somewhat normal sounding then right back to whiny, weird squeaky. What a shame. Ruining a great story
