Publisher's Summary

A blind date. A nervous sorority girl. A mean-spirited fraternity prank. What could go wrong?

As a sorority pledge, there are commandments that Katie Vickery must live by. One: Thou shalt not show up for the party without a date. Two: The guy shall be an athlete, preferably an upperclassman.

Unfortunately, Katie just broke up with her jerkface football player boyfriend. Even worse, her last encounter with him resulted in utter humiliation. She'd rather hide under the bed than attend a party where he'll be.

Yet staying home would mean letting him win.

Enjoying herself was out of the question. She could only hope to get through the evening without her blind date noticing that he was spending the evening with a crazy person.

Andrew Baschnagel is living proof that nice guys don't finish first. He's had his eye on Katie since the moment her long legs waltzed into his art history class. So when her roommate sets Andy up to be Katie's date, he'd be crazy to say no.

Well worth your money! Sweet & well done!

Andrew Isaac Baschnagel. Now THAT'S a name of a guy I'm interested in. *Jew Alert*

I've really enjoyed each and every book in this series, especially the to DIE for The Understatement of the Year, which is expertly narrated, BTW, and Blonde Date was another good one. Again, Saskia Maarleveld does a decent job reading, but there is something about her voice that sounds too old for NA to me. Nick Podehl was awesome again as the slightly dorky and awesome Andy.

What impressed me most about this book was the fab sex-positive message (even when you are doubting yourself- every girl has been there!), and the lovely beta hero male MC. I am totally gaga over a beta man, and a Jewish beta man who plays sports?! Now I'm verklempt!

Short, sweet, and well done, I hope we get more stories out of these characters in the future. Awesome again, Sarina Bowen!

Short and Sweet!

I am so glad we got this little glimpse into Andy! I liked him in book 2 and I loved him in this book. He is a little geeky and a good guy who thought he'd never have a chance with his dream girl. Katie finally realizes that she likes a guy who treats her well and doesn't hesitate to grab a hold with both hands. This is a short story but I liked getting to read about the date that Scarlet set up for these too. He was so nervous it was sweet and funny and she was honest with him which I loved even more.

Another great narration job by Nick Podehl & Saskia Maarleveld!

Short but so sweet

I would've loved a little more of this one, just because it was such a feel good story. Andy is such a sweet, wonderful guy who you just have to root for. It would've been great to just get a little more, showing him gaining more confidence in his new relationship. However, even though it is very short, it's enough for a good quick pick me up and to just make me feel good.

Fantastically fun!

Loved this quick listen with Katie and Andy’s story and hope we hear more about them as side characters in the subsequent Ivy Years books. The narration was great, especially during the “climax.” 😂

Cutest love story ever 😍

The main characters are so cute together! I wish the book was longer. Not that it was unfulfilling so much as I wish I could hear more of their cute interactions. I would kill for a guy to think of me the way he does. He would hang the moon for her.

Male narrator not good

Loved the cleaver writing to upturn fraternity brats.
Female voice of male narrator a big distraction. Love author.

Sweet and hilarious!

Fun redemption story about a sexually confident gal and the good guy who woos her. The part during the hookup is so sweetly hilarious, I laughed for 10 minutes! I loved how real their romance felt.

Book 2.5, NOT 0. Cute story in novella length.

This was sweet and romantic. I felt the chemistry of this couple from the moment they met on their first date. I was drawn to the lovely personalities of both. Well-written and sexy in a sweet, innocent way. I loved it. Uniquely described and fun. The hero Andy was particularly loveable as he was goofy and relatable. Well "acted" when you hear the Audible version.

This novella is advertised as book 0 in The Ivy Years Series but chronologically speaking, the story follows The Year We Hid Away: A Hockey Romance (The Ivy Years Book 2). Therefore, it’s really book 2.5. I read it in the wrong order, but it didn’t matter. It was so sweet!

I am loving this series of stand-alone novels. Wonderful, so far. In fact, I recommend Sarina Bowen novels generally.

Fabulous narrating team. Love their work!
