Life-Changer

This book has changed the life of my partner and me. It provides the background, biology, and well-written skills necessary to begin immediately helping me to understand my partner, and begin communicating and sharing our lives after a long period of pain, anger, helplessness. Utilizing the methods this book details, starting with validation, was equal to flipping a light switch to the life we previously shared, and are rebuilding together. It also catalyzed my partner to seek debt.

Very Informative

Really enjoyed listening to this book. I have been suffering from BPD pretty much my whole life and no therapy and I'm basically being my own therapist. This book has great insights that I didn't know, very informative, and I recommend it for anyone who is suffering from BPD or has a family member or close friend with BPD

Very detailed.

This book is a "how-to" in dealing with BPD for families. It helps families see that they are not alone. Other families are having to deal with some of the same issues that they have been experiencing for years. It's a new way of seeing your loved one's behavior and effective ways of dealing with that behavior.

Five Stars

This book reads like the Bible of how to deal with your loved one's BPD. It's a little hard to read, perhaps because its content isn't what you really want to hear. I E, the idea that these people really need to be handled in a much different manner than the average person.

The Best

This is one of the best books on understanding and dealing with a person with Borderline Personality disorder. It covers almost everything that is known about this disorder with a lot of empathy and understanding. I would highly recommend this book especially for people who are beyond the stage of grief and anger and are ready to deal with the borderline in their lives in a compassionate manner.

Very Well Written

Judy Dyer offers the reader a plan to help the person they love to change. This is a book about being compassionate and effective. If you follow its prescriptions, it will not only help you change the life of someone you know who is suffering from a terrible illness, it will change your life too.

Pretty Good

This book is the antidote for all of the misinformation, bad advice and tough love literature you'll find on Amazon, the web and in the offices of mental health professionals. Judy Dyer writes in a clear, concise manner and never talks down to the reader. By describing what is happening in the brains of people with BPD, Judy Dyer helps the reader to understand that the illness has a biological basis.

This book is warmer

This book is warmer, kinder, and easier to read than many on this topic. It helps move you from judgment to empathy. Also, it is very helpful and gives good background info.
