Publisher's Summary

I’m the guy you call when you need to impress your overbearing family, your boss, or your ex. Yeah, I’m a male escort, but not just any escort, I’m the escort. The one with a mile-long waiting list and a pristine reputation that’s very well-deserved.

I’m the guy who’ll make you feel beautiful, desired, and worshipped...all for a steep price. I’m hired to make you shine, and I always deliver.

I’ll be whatever you want me to be for one night - except my true self. This is just a job, a role I play to earn a paycheck.

But I’m not the guy who falls for a client. Not once in six years.

And then I meet Elle. Her friend has hired me to escort her to a wedding, but Elle doesn’t know we’re just pretending.

There’s a fire between us I never expected. A connection I haven’t felt in so long. One kiss, and I’m losing all control.

But what will happen when she finds out who I really am?

So good!!!

Funny, sweet, sexy - this is perfection! I love this authors humor and the way she writes banter, it's fantastic. Narration was really well done too! Highly recommend!

Great listen!

I have been waiting for this one to be released, and was pleased to get today. I love both of these narrators, especially Erin Mallon. Pretty well anything she narrates is an automatic download for me, and the dual narration with Jason Clarke and a title by Kendall Ryan made this worth a credit!
This story has a bit more depth to it than one may think by just reading the descrption (don't dismiss it at being too shallow or superficial)...but at the same time, it's not an intense story line either. It's just great for when you need a time out, a few laughs, several swoons, some sexy hotness thrown in here and there, followed by the HEA.
I love how the characters meet and have this instant chemistry, but he keeps holding back, which naturally is frustrating to her. He does all the right things, but she receives some information a bit prematurely. And the struggles are real! But they were sometimes...real 👍!
**Oooh, and there is bonus goodies thrown in at the end for good measure...to make sure we come back for the NEXT listen to follow this one as well. And I might add that they were NOT all that stingy with how much bonus material was given! Usually you get just a snipet to lure you in. Nope, you are left with some waaay good stuff and I can't wait to now get a hold of this next one to see how things go with Kase! Yum!

Not your typical romance story

If you thinking this will be a redemption story about a man who is so caught up in his ways that being an escort is the best job in the world for him. This story is far from it. It's a beautiful story of finding yourself in the lowest moments and celebrating life.
Ryan has written some of my favourite books and this one join the ranks. Elle isn't a cookie cutter heroine , she may have a little chip on her shoulder about her body but she is gorgeous inside and out. Perfect for our hero who just needs a sweet girl like Elle to break him out his funk.
The blurb may paint a picture of Nic being this suave guy who knows all the tricks. However there is much to more to the story and I loved his journey of seeking a new beginning . It was sweet and fun the whole way. I want more from this couple as their HEA is not enough. As the adventure is only the beginning for them. As for the narrotors, I believe this my first time with this pairing I could be wrong though. I thought they did a good job with the performance and bring these two sweet characters to life making this book perfect.

From fake to forever

Written by Kendall Ryan and narrated by Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon, Boyfriend for Hire is a contemporary romance that has an escort named Nic Evans falling for the woman he's been hired to keep company. What starts off as a fake becomes forever for Nic and his Elle (who doesn't have a last name mentioned in the story), but as expected, there's a whole lot of stuff they need to contend with before they actually get their happily-ever-after.

This is the first in an untitled series of standalones and everything pretty much plays out the way you would think but with Kendall Ryan adding her own creative touch to it. I know some readers didn't like that he was with other women, but the guy IS an escort and being with other women is part of his job. I appreciated the author not glossing over that fact but also not delving too deeply into it either. Nic is essentially a good guy and being an escort is merely what pays his bills and not his life's ambition.

There's a degree of naivete when it comes to Elle, but she was also a woman who embraced her sexuality and I liked that about her. Together, she and Nic shared a believable connection, and Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke did a really fantastic job bringing these two to life. I'm giving four stars for the story and five stars for the performance, which averages to 4.5 stars overall for Boyfriend for Hire. ♥

enjoyed the story

I really enjoyed the story, but was distracted by the female narrators exaggerated ending to her phrasing. The male narrator was good and had a great speech flow.

Does Not Deliver.

A promise is made at the beginning of this book. You know this is a conflict to end all conflicts. HOW is the author going to brilliantly navigate this for her hero and heroine? How could they possibly end up together? I couldn't wait to find out. And then, nothing. Zero. Zilch. One conversation and the conflict is over? Are you kidding me? When I say this does not deliver what was promised, I'm saying I feel so cheated that I may never buy another one of her books again. Which is a shame. Because she's written some good ones. A word to the wise—skip this one and wait for the next.

Main character got annoying

I wanted to really like this book but I found the main character Elle to be naive, needy and very desperate. It was really off putting and I found my self physically rolling my eyes at the things she said and did. The saving part is the voice acting and performance.

Too cute to miss...

The narration between Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon was spot on for this story. This was such a cute & sweet read about Nic, an sexy escort and a client request to take her friend, Elle (a woman who has no clue who he actually is) as her wedding date.

Nic is a man who takes his work seriously and has set some hard rules when it comes to his job and when it comes to finding the one. Little did he know that Elle was the game changer and vice versa.

Thinking this would be another easy job and Elle being set up a plus one by her friend (& soon to be family) to a wedding; it starts to spark something more each time they are together. The dilemma...when the truth (and lies) are becoming a challenge. The more they get to know each other; it will either make or break that chemistry between them.

The male escort finds redemption

I’m still grossed out that the Nick is a male escort but he did redeem himself and it made for a sweet story. I will say that I’ve never liked Erin Mallon’s narration. It’s weird the way she speaks, very staccato and she elongates the last vowel sound of the last word of every sentence. I try and avoid books narrated by her. Luckily, the storyline is a good one. Jason Clark, on the other hand, has a very sexy voice and a great narrator. He, too, makes up for Erin Mallon along with the great story.

Narration Perfection

I just adore Jason Clarke's work. He always brings 110% to his performances and makes every character his own. Erin Mallon is the bees knees too. We all know how swoony her male voice is - she could narrate the entire book and we wouldn't even realise there weren't two narrators. BUT, I am so incredibly glad Jason is narrating.

Kendall Ryan is the queen of quick, easy, light, fluffy reads/ listens. And I say that with the utmost respect. Sometimes we need something light...life is full of dark. Nic and Elle are so sweet together. I actually loved their start, even though part of me was like, why didn't they just uninvite the douche to the wedding? Then all would have been fine...of course, then there would be no story, so. Swings and roundabouts and all that. Nic was such a sweetheart, I loved him from the get-go and I thought the handling of his 'profession' was great and fit with the story and relationship well. Elle was sweet but, I wanted to shake her at times. But, after her experiences with her ex it did make sense that she'd be wary. Christine was a big ole B - I spent most of the book asking who the heck she thought she was? I'm still at a loss as to why she felt she had the right to choose on both occasions. She's the definition of a busy-body.
