Publisher's Summary

He’s no Prince Charming....

Callum Griffin is the heir to the Irish mafia. He’s ruthless, arrogant, and he wants to kill me.

We got off on the wrong foot when I set a (very small) fire in his house. Our families believe a marriage pact is the only thing that will prevent all-out warfare.

I think I might need to murder him while he sleeps. This would all be a lot easier if Callum wasn’t so damned good-looking.

But I’ve got a lockbox around my heart. Because, even if I’m forced to marry him, I could never love a brutal prince.

Brutal Prince is the explosive first act in the epic Brutal Birthright series. It’s a stand-alone dark Mafia romance, complete with HEA and no cliff-hangers. It contains blazing-hot bedroom scenes for mature listeners only!

DNF, male lead is a jerk, Aida’s clueless

I’m returning this one. Actually the first half of the book was pretty good, it was after the wedding that things fell apart. I should have known better, it’s right in the title, but Callum is brutal. As in, controlling, I-am-caveman, alphahole brutal. It was impossible to like him as soon as I got a glimpse of his internal monologue, it was all about controlling her. Even the obvious stuff was terrible, like forcing her to wear clothes she doesn’t like because he likes it? Ugh, that’s not hot it’s a warning signal to run away fast.

Aida wasn’t much better. I liked her up until the stalker ex boyfriend thing. She did not take it seriously at all, even though his behaviour was seriously alarming. The guy can’t take a hint but no wonder - every time he tries to get together with Aida instead of telling him no and leaving, she stays and talks to him, then makes excuses and also, doesn’t tell her significant other about it?

I held on for a bit hoping there’d be some character growth but still 2 hours to go and it’s just getting worse. See ya ✌🏻

I Need A Callum! ❤️

This is the first book I read written by Sophie Lark, and I freaking loved it! From the moment Aida set the library on fire and then threw Callum’s stopwatch into the lake, I knew I was going to like this girl. She was feisty, but not annoying as some heroines in other books tend to be while trying to seem tough. Aida had street smarts. She was the perfect match for Callum because she could hold her own with him and his people. I laughed at so many of the situations they were in together. It was actually a really sweet love story.

I’m not sure if I ever would want to be involved in the mafia, but I can’t help but think how intriguing that life is and how tough it would have to be to be a part of it. Callum can come across as a nice guy, but if you cross him, he wouldn’t hesitate to kill you. He was so protective of Aida even when he didn’t like her which made him so much hotter.

The narrators doing the audiobook makes it even more sexy. Callum.... my heart! I cannot wait to read Nero’s story!

Sophie, great job!

Must read

This is the first book that I have listened to by Sophie Lark and I found it refreshing and amazing. It's a Mafia book that has violence, kidnapping, forced marriage, and surprisingly many laugh out loud moments. Callum is a strong dominant man who is also compassionate. Aida is strong willed and sassy in a funny way. Both love their families. I don't think I've ever said this about a Mafia story but it is a sweet romance. Don't get me wrong there are several explosive love scenes. The plot and character developments are superb. The narrators immersed me into the story. They are new to me and they are excellent storytellers. They give the characters distinctive voices and bring them to life. I highly recommend this Audible book. It's definitely one that I will want to listen to again.

My first read by this author and I'm in love!

Enemies to lovers and Mafia romance are my absolute favorite genres and this one delivers! I was glued in right from the start and couldn't get enough of Callum and Aida! Its insanely sexy and deliciously dark. I love how fiesty Aida is with Callum. Though their marriage is arranged, Aida doesn't have to like it or play by the rules. They both give as good as they get. They definitely don't see feelings coming into the mix and they deny it every chance they get. The steamy scenes are HOT, like scalding, they have a chemistry that is explosive. I loved how everything flowed and played out. The narrators just blew me away with how well they fit these characters. Just perfection!

What a wild ride!

First of all, I need a Callum in my life! Right from the very first paragraph it was obvious Ada is not your typical female. She’s strong, a little ok a lot arrogant who goes after what she wants and pretty much does what ever she wants. Each chapter had me drawn in a little more! Coming from two Mafia rivalry families Callum and Ada are forced in to marriage to prevent and further violence between their families which sparks a rollercoaster ride of a journey.
I am so looking forward to the next book as the both Ada’s brothers and Callum’s sisters are also intriguing characters
The narration was very well done by both narrators.

You like mafia romance, enemies to lovers get it!

Enemies to lovers mafia romance, with age-gap and arranged marriage, narrated by Monica King and Liam DiCosimo, brilliant, enticing, and got me hard. A fantastic roller-coaster ride I didn't want to get down from. It was enthralling and each chapter got to me, I was hooked from the very start and I so need the next books in the series. The audiobook is totally recommended, it made this story which was a brilliant one, and took it a step further. Must-read!

Play with fire, you’re going to get burned 🔥

This is a really fun enemies to lovers mafia romance. There’s plenty of action, a little violence and a very nice spice level. I can’t get over how much I love Aida. She’s such a fun, ballsy character. Honestly she alone is worth the credit.

Monica King had to have had so much fun playing such a kick-ass queen. And she nails it!
Liam DiCosimo does a great job switching between buttoned-up politician to man half crazed with lust.

This one is a ton of fun and I can’t wait to get the side character’s stories.

Mafia romance!

This is an enemies to lovers romance. We have Callum from the Irish mafia and Aida from the Italian mafia. Our story starts out with a party a fire and an unwanted marriage and ends in true love. Aida is a feisty and smart young woman trying to make her mark in a male dominated world. She fights like hell for her family and friends. She is such an enjoyable h. Callum is running for political office and while strong-minded he comes across as fair (for a mobster). Callum and Aida have to figure out how to unite two enemy families and overcome several external obstacles. This book is action packed and sexy as hell. Love scenes are HAWT. This book has duel narration which I love. Monica and Dicosimo do an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. This is my first book by Sophie Lark and it won't be my last. I hope the series continues with Aida's brothers or Callum's brothers. # PinkFlamingoProductionsReviewer # AudioObessionReviewer

Woah! A great story and narration

I loved this story. The FMC is not your typical damsel in distress. She is a snarky, no nonsense woman who goes after what she wants and takes it. The MMC is a softer version of a brutal gangster and I loved how the two of them clashed at first. The heat was intense and Monica King and Liam DiCosimo are fantastic in this enemies to lovers story that I just adored. Highly recommend.

dark mafia romance done right!

This book is H.A.W.T.!! Aida and Callum are combustible together in this 1st book of the Brutal Birthright Series.

Aida is anything but a meek timid mafia princess and Call is all alpha.

Sparks fly with these two from the moment they meet and I wasn't sure if either of them would make it out alive before one of them killed the other.

Forced into an arranged marriage after Aida gets into a bit of trouble at the Griffin's home, they despise eachother and can't imagine making the best out of their situation.

Aida is a feisty, saucy Italian woman and completely unpredictable with a quick temper. Call is uptight and has no idea how to handle her at first, but soon gets sucked the tornado that is Aida.
I thoroughly enjoyed this dark romance and how it sets up the next book.
I'm all in, hook line and sinker!!
