About this listen

Ten years ago, a one-night stand got me pregnant and disappeared.

Now, he's standing on my doorstep. And he's not leaving until I let him in.

But even if I wanted to, I can't. And even if I could, I wouldn't.

Because Konstantin Aminoff is a world of danger, and my life has plenty of that as it is.

I've got a possessive addict for an ex and a creepy lurker for a landlord. I've got an agent who's sick of me and a former boss who's trying to ruin me.

Most of all, I've got a nine-year-old son who needs me to be his mother.

So no, Mr. Aminoff, I can't let you in. You're one fire this caged rose won't survive.

I say everything to his face, just like that. He looks me in the eye, smirks, and says…

"Too damn bad. Guess you're coming with me."

Caged Rose is the first book in the Aminoff Bratva duet from bestselling mafia romantic suspense author Naomi West. Kon and Iris's story carries on into book two, Caged Thorn.

This book duet has good character development and an understanding of certain issues it broached. It has some steam and emotional depth. I think the book would be more enticing if it had more steam and chemistry between the 2 main characters. The character development of the boy is on point but the character description of children at the end of the book is a mess. This is unfortunate because, despite a couple of unplausible plot points, the story is solid and entertaining. The narration is good.
