À propos de cet audio

A Genestealer Cults Novel

The people of forge world Morod have found a new hope against despair and toil. The long-awaited angels are close, and the cult must prepare for their coming.

Listen to it because: acclaimed science-fiction author Adrian Tchaikovsky's first full-length work for Black Library takes the form of Day of Ascension, in which the populace of the forge world of Morod grow weary of the backbreaking work and injustice of their lives. But how far will they go to achieve change?

The story: on the forge world of Morod, the machines never stop and the work never ends. The population toils in the mines and factoria to protect humanity from the monsters in the void, while the Adeptus Mechanicus enjoy lives of palatial comfort.

Genetor Gammat Triskellian seeks to end this stagnant corruption. When he learns of a twisted congregation operating within the shadows, one that believes that the tech-priests are keeping people from their true salvation - a long-prophesied union with angels - he sees in them an opportunity to bring down Morod's masters and reclaim the world in the name of progress.

But sometimes, the only hope for real change lies in the coming of monsters.

The admech is the worst part of the imperium and this book does a great jo. showing it. they are mindless and inhumane, completely wrapped up in dogmatic tradition literally sacrificing anything and everything that makes one human for "the omnisiah" with nothing to ever show for it. I wanted the cult to win just so the cog boys could take a well deserved l despite knowing that they get eaten by the nids in the end.

Honestly was on the Cultists side 😆 this is your future without AI.

yeah I really liked this one. Good narration, well written, solid story. I liked the ending, very satisfying overall, especially if you like nids.

I was thoroughly impressed by this book and would purchase a sequel without hesitation

Day of Ascension by Adrian Tchaikovsky is a captivating and well-crafted science fiction novel that kept me engaged from start to finish. The world-building is exceptional, transporting the reader to a unique and immersive universe that is both thrilling and thought-provoking. The characters are richly developed and relatable, each with their own motivations and flaws that make them feel like real people.

Tchaikovsky's writing is superb, striking a perfect balance between action and introspection, with vivid descriptions that bring the story to life. The pacing is just right, with twists and turns that keep the reader on their toes while still allowing for moments of reflection and emotional depth.

Overall, Day of Ascension is a fantastic read that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves science fiction, or just a great story. Tchaikovsky is a master storyteller, and I'm looking forward to more.

Adeptus Mechanicus + Tyranid Genestealer Cult

Love the perspective of a tyranid cultists. The story wasn't complex or overly deep but it didn't need to be. It's great to have a book that shows how these infected humans develop their cult like following and how the hivemind connection between all tyranid life forms. The juicy irony of the grim dark existence of being an imperial citizen being so awful they turn to a fanatic worshipping of a race that will in the end devour them all.

Ascend! The Emperor's Angels are coming

An amazing take on the genestealer cult! Might be a bit short but the book has a good pace, memorable characters and offers a point of view rarely seen in warhammer stories.

they look like monsters to you?
