À propos de cet audio

A Warhammer 40,000 Novel

Night has fallen on the prison world of Zartak. Renegades from the Imperium's dawn stalk the complex, delivering pain and death. Yet something just as dangerous awaits them: the brutal, predatory, but ultimately loyal Space Marine Chapter known as the Carcharodons.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a gripping tale, as stalking Night Lords face the Imperium's most predatory Space Marines in a darkened prison – with wardens and convicts caught in the middle.

THE STORY

On the prison world of Zartak, darkness has fallen on arbitrators and inmates alike. The Night Lords have come, bringing with them the shadow of fear and pain. But these monsters are not the only ones with an interest in Zartak. From the void, running on silent, another fleet emerges.

These Space Marine warriors are grey-clad and white-faced, and their eyes are as black as the Outer Dark – the savage Carcharodon Astra. As two packs of ancient, merciless predators stalk the shadows of the prison colony, both seeking a single young inmate with unnatural talents, the corridors run red, and both factions will have to fight tooth and claw to leave Zartak alive.

If you enjoy the brutal, suspenseful side of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, This is for you. Red Tithe throws the silent savagery of the Carcharodons against the equally shadowy but even more savage Night Lords in a claustrophobic prison mine. The result is a non-stop, nail-biting showdown. The writing masterfully builds tension, turning every engagement into a brutal stalk, trap, counter trap strategic battle in silence and shadows. The setting ensures a palpable sense of horror and confinement, and there are several moments where you genuinely lose hope for the characters involved. Be aware that the pacing is occasionally stretched to maximize the gore and violence, but this only adds to the book's intense, relentless atmosphere.
Highly recommended for all 40K fans, especially those who love the savage, elusive Carcharodons or chapters defined by brutal, torturous violence who above their glee for torture and extreme violence are fighting to avoid being dragged into the deep waters

the quintessential grimdark experience. a perfect point for new initiates to dive into the great ocean that is the literature, but absolutely brimming with references and easter eggs for us Long War Veterans

I love the stories about the unfamiliar chapters, they have some of the best characters and storylines. can't wait for the rest of the series

It's a bit different. The space marine chapter seems non-standard and there are hints of an intriguing backstory for them. A Night Lords warband shows up and comes into play. Instead of it all being just them at war with each other, they are competing to reach an untrained human psyker in the depths of a prison mining colony. Each faction wants to put him to a different use critical for it's future. It's an interesting change of pace. There are perspective chapters from the two Astartes factions, the untrained psyker, and an Arbites officer from the prison who witnesses most of what happens. It stays fast paced and makes you want to keep going. The action is nothing you wouldn't have seen before if you've read other 40k books but it's still fun. The Librarian character is cool. The story and the stakes of the story felt more cohesive and purposeful than some other Warhammer books I've read. I am left interested in checking out the next book. This one might not be a good entry point for the 40k setting but is worth checking out if you have some familiarity with it and generally like this sort of thing. Enjoyable time overall!

enjoyable time, a bit different

A good book; however the narrator leaves little to no pauses between chapters and sections. Unfortunately unless you’re completely focused on the narration, it is difficult to follow sometimes. I thought it was just me and then spoke with some friends who had the same experience.

This is unfortunate as otherwise, the story and the performance are very good. The disjointed nature is enough to disrupt some folks’ listening experience.

Poorly narrated, good story
