My whole life has been characterized by fighting; fighting my family and fighting for my life. Trust me—the first one is completely voluntary, and a lot of fun. The second? Not so much. To say my family dynamic is weird is the understatement of the century. I held my first sword when I was only five years old, and I learned how to dispose of a body before I turned ten. I may have a penchant for pink and sparkles…but that doesn’t mean I don’t know how to kick major ass as well.

Fate Hollow is the academy of the elite, where supernatural beings with special magic train for war against humans. A big-hearted, naïve arctic fox shifter like me couldn’t have prepared for the treachery lurking within the walls of the academy. Students were going missing or turning up dead on campus and rumors circulated about humans infiltrating academy grounds.

Waking up on my twenty-sixth birthday, I had hoped to be left alone for one day, just one. What I didn’t expect was to receive a life-changing gift from a stranger. Or for my body to be offered up as a rite of passage for my husband’s initiation into a sick and twisted cult. When powers I never knew existed burst from within me, my husband’s study is left in ruin, with one man dead at my feet, and me passed out tied to a desk. After the chaos, I’m whisked away to my new home.

Now, I’ve got powers I don’t understand, I can change my appearance with a thought, and I’m having all kinds of odd...cravings. If I thought all this was gonna get me out of going to college, though, I’ve got another think coming. Nope, I still need an education.

The last thing I remember is arriving at the massive gates with a Bounty Hunter staring me down. I have a feeling he was supposed to take me to the monster holding arena to fight. Instead, I’m Fortune Academy’s newest student. I can relate to the monsters in ways the other students can’t. My mentor, who is way too hot for his own good, tells me my behavior is the result of my memory loss and that I’m just trying to identify with a past pain that I’ve buried too far to feel.
