Publisher's Summary
He is cold and calculating, the master of a twisted game. Even with Vito and Sophie hot on his trail, he will not stop. One more empty grave must be filled, and one last scream must be heard, the scream of an archaeologist who is too close for comfort and too near to resist.

Sorry, Karen
Although, I prefer my romance sans horribly sadistic psycho-killer torture chambers,I liked 'Scream for me' very much. This was largely because of the very compeling hero who falls in love with a movingly troubled woman. Die for me only has the torture chambers. (In spades! If you like those, you won't go hungry.)
But! The protagonists are unappealing and their union manages to be both bizarre and dull. And, although Tavia is an excellent narrator, she doesn't really do either French or Italian and her perfomance is flat.
Maybe she was just as bored as I was. I can't care enough about any of it to finish.
Sad face.

Spectacular new find
Lucky enough to have a reviewer on a readers' loop whose sig line includes what she's listening to, Then later reviews it. She gave a ten out of ten for one of Karen Rose's suspense books, which is BIG for her. And when I asked, she told me she'd listened to it, and afterward took extra care in locking her doors. THAT is my kind of book. I didn't try that book, YET, because I read the recaps of them all, and this was the first. I'm now on the second, "I Can See You," and it's just as good if not better than the first. I LOVE the date/time stamps on every scene. Give such a creepy feeling of impending doom.
This is a great listen, and so is the second so far. By the time I'm done, I'm sure I'll have her entire audio list.
Excellent, excellent. And the reader MUST be great, because she's so good and her voice isn't intrusive, if that makes any sense. She has all of the accents down pat, all of the action down pat, and what makes her spectacular is she can make the villian sound SO normal and non-threatening when he has to be to lure in his victims.
New, happy fan.

wow
This is the first Karen Rose for me, and as soon as I finished this one I immediately came back for more. I actually found this because I love listening to Tavia Gilbert and went in to find something she narrated. I will be back for more of Karen Rose, as well as more from Tavia.

Intense!
Great book, very intense! Karen Rose has a morbid mind though. At times, her scenes got so descriptive that you could feel a chill run down your spine. Very morbid torture scenes...beware.
There are so many elements going on that it made my head spin. Characters left and right. Took me a while to remember who was who (especially with the hero and his 4 brothers all having rhyming names).
The romance scenes were weak--but this isn't a book for great sex scenes. In fact, you actually wish they'd skip the romance and get back to the plot! I wouldn't suggest this book for someone looking for a typical romance novel where two people fall in love--the woman gets into trouble and the man saves the day. There's way too much plot to this one.
Its true that many of the characters are either good or evil, but the thrill for me was how the cops found the bad guy.
I thought the book was amazing. Great read, err... listen.

Very well put together
Where does Die for Me rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
That's a tough question, Karen Rose is a great author and Tavia Gilbert is always exceptional. The story line is fascinating and I have no complaints

Love cop romance
Great story. I got a little lost early and had to restart and almost decided i didn't like it. Decided to stay with and glad I did because it all came together. I will continue with rest of the series. Narrator was good .

Disturbing
I got through 3 hours and my heart was pounding. I had to stop for awhile. I will finish it at some point. The torture scenes were too realistic. Would have been better if they were described after-the-fact. Hard to believe a woman wrote this!

Riveting story!
I loved it very suspenseful. I love Karen Rose books they are so addicting, I've started listening to them last month and have about 10 to 12 more books to get through. Gone through her Cincinnati series and romantic series now going to the Baltimore series. I just can not get enough so detailed, I enjoy all the characters and the plots and romance. Keep them coming Mrs Rose I'm hooked!!!!
