I love Stephen King!

To be honest, I tried reading Stephen King in my teens and found them too long and descriptive. I use to say " Who cares how many colours are in a carpet!".
Now, I can't get enough! 75%-80% of my Audible library is Stephen King!

Branching out of horror

Fantastic 4 novellas. Excellent narration. I've seen both Shawshank and Stand By Me (The Body) as films already. Not horror like normal for King, although it does touch on that in each story. To listen to the original writing is amazing. I really love Apt Pupil, and I wish I knew more about the Club in Breathing Method. Getting weird Dark Tower vibes from it....not sure if that's the point, but very creepy. Great purchase!

Excellent Stories

A great collection of stories to keep you entertained without getting into the long, drawn out stories King usually does (not that that is a bad thing, I love them but it's nice to get some variety over a 20 hour long period, especially after finishing a few of his longer ones). It was great to listen to the original story counterparts of acclaimed movies and I especially loved the last one!

Fantastic!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to a friend, because the stories are great, and the reader is one of the best I have ever heard.

What did you like best about this story?

All of the novellas in the book are great, but the shawshank redemption is my favorite out of all of them.

What does Frank Muller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Frank was fantastic at first person stories. He was also good at making you feel like you were really in the novel he was reading. That is why he was and audio award winner in my opinion.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending of apt pupil was very surprising to me.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend any book read by Frank Muller.

Extraordinary listening

Intense, thrilling, thoughtful and a great performance! King at his best because it is not the usual King's horror.

Four amazing short stories

Stephen King said that when he is writing his books Frank Muller's voice is the one that he hears in his head.

These are four amazing stories brought to life in audio format by the much missed and loved Frank Muller, one of the best narrators that ever lived.

Each of them is set in a different season of the year and three of them have been adapted into great movies. The Shawshank Redemption and Stand by Me are two of the movies inspired by these stories.

Fast paced plots and a perfect performance makes this collection a must read for all fans of Stephen King.

I hope that one day the publisher will take the time to mark the chapters for evrry book separatly.

The first three stories are incredible.

This is simply a must listen if you are a Stephen King fan. Great value for your money the first three stories were pure listening joy and worthy of five stars. The last story is a dud!

A Stephen King Classic! Must "read"

Just finished the Audible version of Stephen King's "Different Seasons". A story for each season. All I can say is Awesome! & I was sorry when the stories ended. What an imagination & creativity this author has! Thoroughly enjoyed & the narration was just right. I would highly recommend. Three of the stories were made into movies- Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption & Apt Pupil. Stephen King at his best in my humble opinion.

these stories were amazing, the shawshank redemption and stand by me stuck very closely to the original stories so there isn't much learned about these but the other two were great and very captivating

Pleasantly Suprised

I had seen all of these novellas as movies before hearing them read, and as is usual the book far surpasses the movie.
